I started doing OC sites now because I dont do anything over 5 refs or so. Anyways I asked my buddy to do my link for me he signs up, and says theres only about 10 things he can do. I looked at mine and I had a solid 20 options.. Me not believeing him or thought he was a dumbass went to his house to look for myself. But its true! even if I click the "see more offers here" link there is only about 10 options he has..

What gives? Is something busted? Or is this just how OC is?

That's how they are. They are called OOD (Offers of Doom). When you get close to finishing a site, those appear.

Oh, so that's what OOD stands for. That's pretty messed up. So, is this why a lot of people have not received gifts from them?

^^ yep. It's taking me almost a year to get my last two refs on my mp3players4free account. Each time I get someone to sign up, they see 6-10 offers and most are not trial offers.

OC is shooting themselves in the foot doing this.

Luckily, I got my PSP from them last year - from signup to getting the PSP in less than a month. Before the OOD.

It's very obvious. They get maybe 30-40 bucks per referral from advertising. When someone finishes and asks for a gift they lose money. These kind of companies get their money from people NOT finishing. So for OC to do this is kind of smart on their part. People sign up get 4 people and then the 5th will never finish. OC doesn't give out product and cashes on accounts.

Considering how long I've been on NB4F, and the effort I put into it, they ought to just give it to me at 18 refs. I really doubt there are many of us in that situation, and doubt we'd break their bank by getting our laptops. )

True, and it also is rather shady to change offers like that... and personally I won't go near OC because of this fact.

they also offer better products though, look at the laptop website(only 18 refs, but you have casino bingo offers at the end). or video ipod, you get your name engraved. crap like that. i wish they had t-shirts though!

it can take months and months to find someone willing to shell out 80 bucks for a stupid casino offer.

Uh...I don't think I'll be doing any OC sites. Maybe in another lifetime =).

If I wasn't so close, I would just abandon them completely. But only having one more ref to get, I just want to get it done and work with the other freebie companies.

Here's the email response I got back from them today, after I asked for a list of the offers that people can do when they sign up

[quoted86caa55f5]Hello,

Due to excessive amounts of fraud associated with many of our offers,
we
have put a system in place which allows only a certain number of
referrals
to complete them. We are constantly adding new offers. If you do not
find
one you are interested in, please check back at a later time.

Fraud? Is that what they call signing up for a trial offer and then if you decide it's not an offer you want to keep, you don't continue on with the offer?

Thank god I got my PSP from them when I did (last April)
