My account was disqualified! I don't know why! This is SO stupid! I know i cheated with gratis, but i didn't do ANYTHING wrong with offercentric. I told 5 people to sign up, and they did. And now my account has been disqualified! They signed up and registered from there own computers. Ohhhh, why doesn't ANYTHING work?

29-03-2005 06:05:08

WELL, you had to have cheated or violated some rules becuase they dont just disqualify people for the hell of it...you cheated, deal with the consequences

wow you guys are asses

what if he's telling the truth?

Petard

29-03-2005 09:42:58

i am telling the truth! i didn't cheat! no extra accounts, no other accounts made with my ip or anything! I contracted them, and they told me i have multiple accounts! i don't know what they are talking about. I send them another email asking them which accounts i had. Is it bad if someone logs into there account on my computer, even if they signed up at there own house? It says do not use a public computer to SIGN UP not sign in! I was going to use that money to buy a psp cry

Its called karma..what goes around comes around...shouldnt have cheated on Gratis P. Speaking of karma...-1! P (nah I wont do it, im not mean wink )

Petard

29-03-2005 09:56:44

is gratis somehow affiliated with offercentric? And who cares if i cheated there, i didn't get my prize. Its not fair, because i didn't do anything wrong, and they are going to run away with probably $350 or so dollars! And i deserve my prize because i did nothing wrong!

This is the email i received from them
Hello,

We're sorry but your account has been disqualified for the following
violation

(c). There may not be more than one account per household per OfferCentric
web site. A household includes your shipping address, and may include your
IP address.

d). A user may not have multiple accounts at multiple shipping addresses
or IP addresses on the same OfferCentric web site. i.e. A user may not use
multiple addresses to receive free gifts or use multiple computers,
Internet service providers or IP addresses to create multiple accounts.

This account will remain closed.

Best Regards,
OfferCentric Member Services

They seem to think the guy that logged into his account on my computer is really me and a second account of mine!

Somehow I don't think that's the reason you've been disqualified. If you truly did not cheat, try asking them which account they believe is duplicate. If you [i6778f8e7b9]did[/i6778f8e7b9] cheat, well then there's probably nothing you can do.

Petard

29-03-2005 10:26:40

i did ask, and im waiting for a response. But everyone signe up and completed their offer on their computer.

Petard

29-03-2005 14:41:10

Heres an update
i replyed saying
May I ask what accounts you have under my name? I only remember
signing up once. My relative signed up and completed an offer on his
computer, but signed in on my computer a couple times, is that a
problem?

and they replied saying
Hello,

We're sorry but we do not provide details which led to our decision.
Providing this information gives dishonest members a strategy to get
around our fraud detection. Please understand that we are in no way trying
to be unfair, but we do not provide details for this reason.

And now i replyed saying
How would telling me what accounts you think are mine give dishonest
members a strategy? Well, is there any way to prove that they are not
my accounts, and that they are other peoples accounts? The only one I
would think you have a problem with is (the persons email) because he
logged into his account on my computer.

And what does everyone mean they will take your account off hold easily? They seem to refuse to even LOOK a bit farther

29-03-2005 14:42:40

thats got to hurt, i would have to say that gratis is a bit nicer and much more professinoal... hopefully you can get things sorted

Petard

29-03-2005 14:43:34

everyone use to say offercentric is nicer and not as harsh as puting your account on hold because the person logged in on your computer!

CronoDekar

29-03-2005 14:54:45

You don't by chance live in a dorm or apartment or anything do you? Sometimes there're problems in situations such as these.

And if they told you (and you did have multiple accounts) you could figure out what you could get away with by seeing what accounts they did not register as one of your accounts.

oasisweb

29-03-2005 14:57:33

frankly, I don't think it's because someone else logged in on your computer. And "I only remember signing up once" was really bad word choice. Because to them, if you can "remember" you can just as easily have "forgotten".

Petard

29-03-2005 15:05:44

no im at home. Well, its really hard to choose words, and im not the best at english class! i hate writing things. Do they put "both" accounts that i "own" on hold? or just the one being verified? Because the guy that logged in with my computer isn't on hold. So i really dont know what one they think is mine! it makes me so mad because I want a psp soooo badly.

And if i have forgotten about the an account (which I didn't ever sign up for a second one) and no one signed up under it and it didn't do an , why do they care?

BTW what time does offercentrics customer support close?
And if its not someone logging into my computer, then what could it be? I dont own any of those accounts!

breakaboi

29-03-2005 20:43:09

I had the exact same problem with offercentric.
They told me that I had multiple referrals with the same ip. And I told them my whole story about exactly which email belonged to whom.

They told me the only way I could prove that each referral was unique was if I had them email offercentric telling them they were unique users and that they signed up from different computers.

After all my referrals emailed their proofs, offercentric did absolutely nothing and just totally got rid of my account. When I try to login, it doesn't even exist anymore. A very bastardly thing to do eh?

It could be that you just had some bad luck.

Maybe you have an ISP that has DHCP. Now, DHCP is like magical chairs with routers and IP addresses but of course with an abundance of IP addresses. Everytime your router boots up or your IP lease expires, it runs around, gets an IP and sits on it until the next reboot or lease expiry.

It could be that the particular IP that you got were using was also used by someone else to sign up for the Offercentric website.

But, I could be wrong. It's all speculation here. Offercentric might have trained hamsters to find accounts to put on hold for all we know.

Petard

30-03-2005 06:43:28

why do they randomly put accounts on hold then? i have had my same ip the whole time, but i guess someone might have had it before... Damnit!

sorry, i cant edit, it wont let me!
this is what they just said in a reply
Hello,

We're sorry but your account has been disqualified. This account will
remain on hold indefinitely.

are they affiliated with gratis? gratis also said indefinitely! this is so unfair!

If you have a fixed IP with a very long lease like university networks, then I doubt that's the case.

I think maybe you were complained against by the offer provider for canceling too quickly?

Petard

30-03-2005 11:18:54

i didn't cancel too early. the reason im on hold is because "i have multiple accounts"

justinfreestuff

30-03-2005 14:27:51

this is how they make money
they need sacrificial lambs for profits... apparently it's you this time...

Petard

30-03-2005 14:28:58

Do they do this alot? Man i hate my luck! ARGH! I already gave gratis like $1000, now they run off with $350 from me? WHY!? WHY!?!? WHY ME???

what?

CronoDekar

30-03-2005 14:43:33

I think he meant that through held accounts on Gratis he "lost" $1000 of stuff he would've gotten. Though since he also said in the first thread that he cheated with Gratis I don't feel too much sympathy for that one.

Petard

30-03-2005 14:54:25

Yeah, i dont really care that much because i cheated. But I do it right this time, and i still dont get my prize. I hate my luck, i really do.
(but 9/10 of my macmini referrals i didnt cheat on, and 3/5 of my ipods referrals i didnt cheat on)
BTW does anyone want to buy a dell axim x30 312mhz w/ wifi and bluetoth for $175?

Petard

31-03-2005 08:51:29

ok, now i think they are trying to fraud me! first they say that i have multiple accounts, now they say those accounts are fraudelent!

Petard

31-03-2005 12:42:02

If they saw that your referrals were fraudelent, wont they put their accounts on hold also? because my referrals accounts are not on hold!

Petard

31-03-2005 17:41:02

So does anyone have sugestions on how to get them to stop being asses? or am i just screwed for no damn reason?

Petard

01-04-2005 18:23:23

Now they just seem to ignore all my emails! no response from them today! I didn't do anything, and they are just keeping the money!

OK, if your referrals are "fraudelent" do their accounts get put on hold or not? because none of my referrals accounts are on hold, but according to OC "more then one are "fruadelent"

smolek5228

01-04-2005 23:10:53

OC DQ'd me yesterday on one site saying I have multiple accounts. It's complete BS because I only signed up there once. I even suggested that they freeze any additional accounts (I guess they've done it before) but they said they couldn't make any exceptions. I just think it's because I had all my referrals lined up and would've been able to claim the PSP or $250 paypal. Now they have me worried that they're going to do it on their other sites (all of which I only signed up ONCE for).

thehoanster

02-04-2005 11:10:31

OC also DC'd me yesterday. (

but i guess it was the way i completed the offers, i went to my friends houses and signed up all using the same cc. thats perfectly legal though right...?

Petard

02-04-2005 13:44:25

No your not allowed to use your credit card for other people, thats is making multiple accounts. But i guess they are just puting random accounts on hold, maybe they are loosing some money (or not making "enough") right now and needed to put some perfectly legitimate users on hold. This is so dumb. I knew this was too good to be true! At least for me that is.

02-04-2005 20:13:56

Petard You should call OC, I think talking to them would be more successful if you explain the whole situation.

How would i call them? they dont give a number! They only allow emails, and that is not working!
