I don't even know why there is a preseason more than 2 games. It's not fun to watch, and it's no indication of who will do well in the regular season because it's all the scrubs. I realize as a Lions fan you don't have much to look forward to in the regular season, except the dim hope of a .500 record, so this is probably as good as it gets for you, but for those of use whose teams are actually Super Bowl contenders, we're more than content to let the shitty teams win every pre-season game while we rest for the games that actually count.

Yeah well you see. Teams have to cut players, so they have to complete against other teams to see if they should keep or cut those players.
Colts = garbage.
Saints = SuperBowl Bound.

First quarter is all starters so it was 30-3 first quarter, so I see as the rest of the quarters not counting so we killed them
But I also don't really like watching pre season games, they seem just kinda boring...

I can CHEER for the Browns cause I'm from Cleveland and have always loved the browns. This team you saw tonight was the team that the browns were predicted to be from the start.
With Tucker, and stallworth back, and winslow coming back soon, we have a shot at winning our division. We have played great/excellent defense through ALL our games and our secondary played extremely well against the undefeated superbowl champs (even though manning sucked tonight).
Oh and the giants are sooo good cause they beat the RAMS, SEAHWAKS (without hasselbeck), bengals and redskins (first game of the season and barely).
Good job for beating 3 teams that will MAYBE get 4 wins each this season. All you guys have going for you at the moment is that you are the defending superbowl champs and in the toughest division in the NFL. You MIGHT go .500 in the division.
The Eagles or Redskins will win that division and the Giants will get in with a wildcard birth.
manOFice
14-10-2008 05:30:51
of course everyone is saying that
But the fact is giants are 4-1 and the browns are just 2-3
They don't choose who they play.
Giants now have the second hardest remaining schedual but wash and philly will not get first place in the division. It will either be dallas or giants
Edit

haha i love you too glenn.
lmao.
BUT one thing that the giants should learn from this is that when they play a GOOD offensive team (which the browns are by far) they are going to get picked apart. It's about time.
Anderson tore up their secondary. They have played no offensive teams yet this year. I hope the giants can pick it up though. If the browns really want to prove something, they need to go and beat the redskins next week.

keep making excuses, but they still weren't playing good with romo. The offensive line can't protect the quarterback no matter who the QB is, and not to mention you only listed 4 players roll
Dallas is now 5-3 and i'm willing to bet very strongly they won't even come close to making the playoffs and giants will win the division.
Giants now have the first hardest remaining schedule and dallas I think is second... so dallas is in some major trouble.
I think people need to realize that the giants ARE a good team and are playing like superbowl champs excluding the browns game of course.
So when will the critizing stop? probably never, first it was the giants are going to lose all the time, then it's they didn't beat anyone good, now after beating WASH, PITT, Dallas, now it's the teams their playing aren't fully there...
So just keep bring the excuses and the giants will just keep on winning

03-11-2008 10:48:46
No but you said they spanked them. But as did the Rams and the Cowboys had Witten and Felix during that game. So using your football math, the Rams will win the super bowl because they beat a better shell of a team then the Giants did.
The Giants are a good team, now could they beat the Titans? I doubt it. Are they the best team in the league? No way. I pick Washington and Titans over the Giants.
I do agree about the schedule, 8 games, and I bet you that they lose at least 3 and remain at the top of the division but lose somewhere in the early rounds of the playoffs.

you may have been able to put an argument together after they lost at cleveland
i don't know how you will be able to convince anyone of that now.
10-1...best in the league by 2 games, tied with tennessee
i think they could beat tennessee straight up
329 points scored...best in the league
only two other teams to score 300+ are arizona and the jets
the giants would host arizona (7-4) in a playoff game
1 of 7 teams to allow 200 or less
other teams pittsburgh, baltimore, tennessee, washington, tampa and carolina.
won 6 straight...next best are the jets (won 5)
unbeaten at home...will probably have home field advantage in the playoffs.
if they aren't the best in the league, who is?

I never said they were going to the super bowl, but I do believe they have a real shot at going
What makes you think they don't? They've beaten the best of the best so far....
And we beat the cardinals without Jacobs and buress. And we rushed for over 200 yards against a unrushable ravens defense...
But then again people saying the giants won't beat someone or make it to the playoffs or Superbowl last year sure were right....

Dallas D-Line > Giants D Line
Dallas Secondary w/PacMan > Giants Secondary[/quote6a8bb7ee5f]
If you don't care about stats, I'll disagree with all those statements except the TO one. And the only reason he's good is because he's so huge and the corners are typically smaller so the size match up he always wins (thats what she said, haha)
Edit Oh yeah, TO had a amazing game yesterday... AGAINST SanFran! Any WR could have put those numbers up against them... How was TO's numbers before this past game...
Oh yeah Giants OLine > Anyone's OLine
But whatever, we know where you stand and everyone else.
On another note, I can't believe the eagles benched mcnabb, I'm so glad I didn't start him. He's the only thing decent they have even though he's going through a bit of a rough patch
DRay9911
24-11-2008 12:04:15
you're kidding, right?
you may not like or want to hear about stats, but this is going to back my point up more than it's going to back up yours.
eli won 3 road playoff games and has a ring.
romo hasn't even won a playoff game, even when they were favored at home last year vs the giants.
i wouldn't be so quick to rank dallas d-line ahead of the giants
-giants rushing D - 933 yards 84.8/game
-dallas rushing D - 1082 yards 98.4/game
dallas' d-line has one more more sack than the giants (33-32)
if you wanted to say that TO was better than one of the two giant receivers (more toomer than burress), i might give you that. but if you want to say he's better than both of them, you're wrong. toomer/burress compliment each other on both sides of the field. TO doesn't have that complimentary receiver other than witten (who actually has the most catches on the team), barber has one less catch than TO
the giants have 600+ yards more on the ground than dallas, they are able to pound the hell out of their opponent. other than the 4th quarter of the game against washington, dallas hasn't been able to consistently do that.
the passing defenses are pretty much even
-giants 2096 yards 190.5/game
-cowboys 2158 yards 196.2/game
i'm not sure what makes dallas' secondary is better than the giants. adam jones has always been overrated
are you trying to say that dallas is the best team in the league (or even nfc right now)? because you never answered my original question from the last page.

No Romo = No TO, it is simple as that.
Giants do have a good O-Line, will be good to see how they handle a nasty Dallas D in the playoffs.
And the Eagles picked Kolb has a number one draft pick, what did everyone think? They picked him up to fill a spot on the bench? This is way overdue, especially when the QB doesn't even know the rules to overtime.

Yeah mcnabb not knowing the OT rules was funny but he should still be starting but I do see the eagles getting that fresh young QB next season as their starter maybe but mcnabb has a contract till 2013... but you know they won't pay his money for him to be benched, lol

what really didn't help was aaron francisco #47 took a very bad line on one of holmes catches (before the td) and then slipped. holmes took it 40 yards to the 6 setting everything up. if they tackle him when he catches it, it forces pittsburgh to go another 20+ yards. maybe a possibility of overtime.
