Moding Xbox 360

Has anyone here had any sanctions against them for modding their xbox 360? I am thinking of doing it so I can play Halo 3 right now and will disconnect for internet and remove hard drive (if it will let me play w/o it in).
Would be flashing the xbox, not installing anything, but I know this voids the warranty and I am worried about that with the problems I have had in the past (2 with ring of death).

You going to use the Blaster 360?

If you don't use live you will be fine... but you'll get banned if you're modded...

Never heard about this until right now, but looking it up looks amazing. Do you have one or planning on getting one? Wonder if I can find one somewhere locally, or at least get it shipped overnight or something.

Getting it shipped overnight would be no problem. I do not have one yet-- but it is something I am going to waste some money on sooner down the line. I just want to make sure they are not going to come out with something better right when I buy the Blaster.

What is this "blaster"

It is an external way to continuously flash your drive when updates come out without opening up the case. Looks very n00b friendly.

The article you linked to doesn't mention this supposed kid. MS already said that they wouldn't ban people for playing Halo 3 early if they got it.

There was a kid banned, but he had version from a Microsoft employee - it wasn't called BETA it was called something else and was online play only.

You wont be banned if you get a copy of Halo 3 early.

flashed a 360 is very easy. the current firmware is not detectable my microsoft, it is the iextreme firmware. Microsoft will not be banning for halo 3, i have been playing it online and they made a public statement saying they will not be banning. If you get the 3 rings of death it is not difficult to fix. Just do a search for x-clamp fix for the xbox.

Except X-Clamp doesn't always work. Thanks for the info on the firmware tho. Do you just open yours and manually do it when u need to update? I may give it a lot.

I opened and tried to mod my 360 but I didn't have the correct PC to do with the SATA ports. Stupid, I know, I should have checked earlier but, yeah. I would recommend buying a Blaster if you are still thinking about doing it because the other method seemed hard for [bf5c7b05cd2]me[/bf5c7b05cd2].

The blaster 360 wouldn't have helped, all it does is provide an external SATA port (yes, that's all it is) so you'd still need a compatible SATA port on your PC. You should just buy a SATA card for your PC for $10 or so. The blaster 360 is an overpriced piece of crap. It doesn't even work correctly with Hitachi drives.

you could just check here to find a local flasher for your system

mods usually run about $20-30 and if you have no technical ability this would be the place to check.

Is there a way to mod the 360 to play backup games and be able to play the games on xbox live without getting banned?
