Hey Guys,

I've been reading up on SLR's and I'm thinking about getting one. I've been looking at the Nikon D80 and the D90. I guess the biggest difference being a little different layout and the D90 can shoot video.

I'd say I'm not a total noob but I am still very green when it comes to photography. So I guess I'd be looking for more of a starter camera. Let me know your thoughts.

Normally I'd suggest the D40 if you're looking for a starter DSLR - it does everything very well, but saves you about $300 over the D80/D90. If you're dead-set on the 80/90, get the 90, as it's only a bit more expensive, and does shoot HD Video, and can use any standard Nikon lens, which means you can shoot HD Video at full focal length.

I may, or may not have gushed over the D90 here[=http//forum.freeipodguide.com/viewtopic.php?t=77085]here

I've been looking on ebay... I'm not sure if I feel like buying from one of these vendors but the feedback is good and I've got a 3 year warranty from another vendor that covers parts/labor. I'd rather just buy the camera and lens without all the extra crap and pay a lesser amount.

Personally, I wouldnt buy a cam through ebay. I had an xti and then it got messed up, took it to best buy, got an xsi and its messing up again soo i think imma take it back soon and just pay the difference to get the d90 and move onto Nikon. Also, those links u provided, they are providing some other type of lens, not the once it comes with which is a 18-105mm instead of the 18-55. Its up to u though.
