All you have to do is register at www.gottabevip.com . Once you are signed up, enter a support ticket saying that you want to be in the March Madness promotion. From there you will be given the password to our espn.com private group.
Sign up using your referral ID or email address and you are good to go.
Now I know the tourney won't start for about another week, but get started asap!

That's just the forum trying to be smart and convert it into a link automatically, and grabbing the period in the process. He didn't enter it as a direct link.
He (or I, if I weren't laz... er, busy) might be able to fix it by wrapping it in explicit URL tags. Or just inserting a space before the period.
