Went to IP3 on 08/10. Had ordered an Apple 20GB iPod initially, switched to HP on 09/20.
Just checked my status and I am SHIPPED !
But, it has been shipped via FedEx from Shanghai, China with a delivery date of Oct 20 !!! shock shock
Finally, they have decided to ship it...

Nope Never. The shipping weight is 1 KG, which I believe is 2.204623 Lbs...

This might exactly what the CEO of Gratis was saying on TechTV. They are working with other vendors to reduce the delays. I guess, they will now try and get everything shipped from the place where it is manufactured.
Just because they shipped mini's earlier does NOT mean that they will not ship iPods from there !

if you siwtched from mini to hpod i'm not sure they wen't through. someone else on here did the same and got mini. and when i tried to switch it didn't go through either, mini is on its way for me...ordered 8/11 went ip3 8/13

well hmm...i'd wait till it arrived so gratis doesn't take it, and then if it is a mini, then talk to gratis. maybe yours is just special though and comming from overseas, just for fun

I wonder if they're going to be doing enough volume to qualify them to order directly from someone higher up on the supply chain than eCost/PCMall.. if so, its definitely good for us.. Good for Gratis too, less markup = more profits for them. That = more free stuff for us.

yeah, I'm an 824 STV, switched 9/9 and I haven't shipped either. Looks like we got passed over for the hPods and maybe have to wait our turn for the Apple iPods (since that's what I assume are shipping out right now).

Here is another snippet of information
I emailed Gratis in the morning about the shipping of my order. I wanted to confirm that it is not a mini. Guess what, they confirmed that it is the HP 20GB iPod. woohooo !
I wanted the HP because of better support and warranty anyway, looks like I will be getting it after all )

I'm hoping for the HP as well (for the warranty).
Interesting that they sent out your HP when you switched 9/20. It would seem they're changing their process of shipping HP's first-switched-first-shipped and are maybe looking at original STV date as well. I'm 8/24 STV 9/9 switched but still not shipped... Unless of course Gratis is just continuing their skipping of 9/9-9/15 (or there abouts) switchers. I hope its the former and they're just rewarding the folks that have been waiting the longest - you 8/6, 8/10ers deserve to get your iPods already...

The one I think is mine is a FedEx number 6877750104xx
It was in a later batch it seems than the others. I found it by Tracking by Reference - I was suprised I actually received a tracking number instead of no unique match.
