This is probably the cheapest we will find Tiger. Apple sets their prices, and most resellers tend to be within a few bucks of Apples MSRP.

I cant wait. I ordered a copy. I cant wait. I am an Apple Devloper Connection select member, so I get the betas, and its just a great upgrade. I love it. I am running build 8a414 on my office G5, and 8a414 Server on my home g5. I cant wait to get my mini.

I wasn't too interested in Tiger before, but I've been reading up on objective-c and cocoa programming (just got myself a book) and I, as a web developer, really want to see what this Core Data stuff they promise Tiger will have is all about.

Right now it looks like Cocoa is really lacking in data access functionality, Core data looks massive. Too bad once you compile your programs they won't work on earlier versions of Mac OS X.

You say you have ADC membership? What does Core Data look like? Give me the sneak preview!!

I guess I'll be ordering my copy with the Amazon GC's from TrialClix!

Was Archon's comment supposed to be witty or something? I've read it like 5 times and it makes no sense. You're not going to get Tiger and sell your Macs on eBay?? Huh? What?

Anyway, I want to get Tiger really bad. However, until I get the RAM upgrade, Tiger will have to wait. This 256 isn't cutting it. I can tell this sucker will really kick when the RAM is uped, but right now it's just too sluggish.

Tiger is so going to kick the crap out of Longwhore or whatever it's called. The days of Microsoft are coming to a close, and Tiger will only quicken it.

I dunno, Mac development is looking to be pretty easy.

Easy development will mean applications which the Mac needs badly.

BUMP!

Any ADC person want to tell me what Core Data is all about?

[quote2b3cd43a66]Data models go beyond graphically representing the class hierarchies in your application. Instead, they are a fundamental piece of Core Data, the new object-graph management and persistence framework that makes its debut in Mac OS X Tiger. Object-graph management allows you to work with the data in your application, including full undo and redo support. It also provides a well-defined data integrity infrastructure. Object-graph persistence means that the data in your application is automatically stored to, and then retrieved from, a file on dis[/quote2b3cd43a66]

Well, I was more wondering how much is Core Data like the System.Data package in the .NETurl==http://=http:///url framework. Or does it work something more like Java Data Objects? Or it is something completely new?

As a computer programmer, I would never support such a thing.

It costs a huge amount of money to develop new softwares. Not being paid after you develop software sucks. My company got ripped off before to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars in software development before, and it almost had us closing our doors. If you want people to write innovative software you have to support it capitalism style, with dollars.

Now, doing the similar thing with Windows doesn't bother me, just because they overcharge for that piece of shit. In fact, the .NETurl==http://=http:///url framework is overpriced and it's free. And if you want to do any real development then you have to pay for MSDN and buy Visual Studio. With Tiger, you get XCode 2.0 FOR FREE, and so far, unlike the .NETurl==http://=http:///url framework, everything in Cocoa seems to be solid.
