I decided a few weeks ago to fork over $10 to the site owner and have my link displayed on the front page for 24 hours. I understood that the link would display with four others, but I figured it's worth a shot to increase the referrals.
I received an email confirmation stating that the referral link would run starting on September 28th at 6 p.m. PDT. After checking throughout the evening of the 28th and the day of the 29th, I never once saw my referral ID linked to the front page.
I wrote to the site owner and have received no response, so I figure I'd send a warning out to folks and see if others have experienced the same thing.
