I was finally (woo!) changed to status "Shipped" today, but when I went to check the tracking number it said that it was not scheduled to be delivered till the 18th? Is this the normal shipping time now? Or should I expect it much sooner? Thanks!

edit see my last post.

Where is it being shipped from? Is it a mini or 20 GB?

Sounds like a bug in UPS's systems... the most it should take is 5 business days (or 1 full week).

What was your order date, sent to vendor date, and did you switch to the HP?

I know that there's no logical order to the shipping, but it keeps my optimistic sense of false hope alive )

actually a mini...order 8/11, ip3 8/13, ship 9/30. it appears to be shipping from china actually haha, i didn't notice the first time round. that's probably why the long shipping time. i thought they usually shipped to gratis and then to us though.

...at least they're shipping something this week. This is the first I've heard of.

I was going to say... if it's a mini it's shipping from China. That would slow things down a bit )

Mini's take a while because they have to go through multiple countries in order to be received in the USa.

There was someone else who ordered a mini, tracking said shipped from China, scheduled delivery in 3 weeks, but she ended up getting the mini in 4 days.

Even though tracking said USPS, it was indeed shipped fedex. So it might not take that long.

Search the forum for the exact post.

BTW, Congrats for the mini!

Plus it probably has to go through customs...

amavis posted the link- http//www.livejournal.com/users/myrav/210643.html#cutid1

said shipped 25th and arrived the 28th...so hopefully fedex's estimate was just way off. can i call fedex now and just tell them to hold onto it instead of delivering it though? this way i'll know where it is when it arrives, no matter when it does (assuming fedex tracking is off for it).

thanks for the replies and grats! been a long wait, but hopefully it'll be worth it haha D

Yeah you can do that...
or just plan not to be home in two to three days around 9 am til 5.. P
they'll leave you a note, either for you to go pick it up somewhere or they`ll deliver it at another convinent time! lol jk

yeah so just call them to make a location and pick the thing up!!!!!!!!

actually, you can't call and tell them you want to pick it up just yet. i moved and its supposed to be delivered to my old empty apt. they said i can't change a shipping addy or have them hold it until it has made one delivery attempt. straight from the mouth of the fedex guy. after one attempt you can change the addy or arrange tol pick it up.

won't they just leave it on your doorstep though? thought you didn't have to sign for these or anything though...

yeah, they'll leave it at the doorstep, the question was about changing the delivery address, which can't be done right away.

i'm pretty sure fedex won't leave it on your doorstep. UPS will, but i think fedex takes it to the nearest fedex facility so (a) you can pick it up yourself or (b) they can try to deliver it again.

i could be wrong, but fedex has never left anything at my house and ups always does.

sweetworld731

yup, fedex didn't. i drove up over and picked it up at the local fedex at 7pm...woo.

I've seen it from both.

Heck I've even seen boxes of furnature left at the front door. Very heavy boxes. Piled high.

They suck... but how many other options are there? Feel like going to china and escort it yourself?
