I want to introduce the freeipods concept to my extended family but many of them are not tech savvy. Also, I don't want their personal e-mail addresses to get spammed. So what I did was I created free yahoo! email= accounts that I plan to offer them. The thing is I kept the e-mails fairly similar so that they would be easy for me to remember. ie. email=ipodref1@yahoo.comipodref1@yahoo.com accounts that I plan to offer them. The thing is I kept the e-mails fairly similar so that they would be easy for me to remember. ie. email=ipodref1@yahoo.comipodref1@yahoo.com/email email==ipodref2@yahoo.comipodref2@yahoo.com=ipodref2@yahoo.comipodref2@yahoo.com/email and so on. My question is whether or not Gratis would consider the similarities between e-mails as a red flag?

i don't know enough to answer your question but i would just err on the side of caution and make them significantly different. just keep a list of the emails and passwords handy. it's easier to just take that step now than worry later on.

I too did something similar for my girlfriend and me and now in hindsight I realize it probably wasn't a good idea. Since she's my one and only referral so far, I don't think I'll have any problems but I have a feeling that Gratis might be prompted by the similarity in all of your referral's email addresses to investigate your account.
One of the caveats to using Gratis is that they're advertisers like viable email addresses to solicit their offers to. If you're setting up spam email accounts for all of your referrals, then in a matter of speaking you’re defrauding the system. I wasn't thinking when I created two spam accounts with the actual word “spam” in the names. Doh!
As someone else suggested I would make the email accounts significantly different and just make a Notepad file to keep track of them.
Good luck.

I'm sure they'll be more than happy to put you on hold for any reason at all. 1 person on hold is $299 saved and something earned.
That would probably come under walking through term in Gratis Terms and Conditions.
Why not have a spreadsheet where you write down the yahoo addresses if you have to.
I've getting porn spam on my e-mail account. Like young hot Latinas?

Yes you can change your password and you will prolle be alright.... Passwords are very unique so its odd that more then one referral have the same password unless they are the same person or that person got walked through the process. I wouldn't recommend the same password or having similar emails its not worth it.

I'd be careful because like several people before me said theirs a chance that they might see that and get you for walking people through it

why not first initial & lastname or something like that & just keep a spreadsheet?

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I should do everything in my power to avoid giving Gratis an excuse to put my account on hold. Though really, I don't see what's wrong with "walking" someone through the process. It's not as if you're putting a gun to someone's head...just speeding up the process a little.
Anyways, it's been a day and a half and I'm still waiting for the Complete Homes offer I signed up for to appear as completed on the Status page.
Thanks again.

I don't understand why you can't walk someone through either. What if my computer illeterate mother wants to signup and she doesn't even know how to turn the computer on?
I can understand them not wanting you to tell someone how to cancel and offer, but that's about it.

I totally agree. Even if my friends and family are computer literate, they'd still probably feel more comfortable with signing up for something if I walked them through and showed them how easy it was.

There is no way Gratis can tell if you "walked" someone through. It is just another way for them to refuse your referrals.
