3/17 -- anyone else have their offer "processing"

Hey guys,

My offer has been "Processing" since 3/8, even though it estimated 3-5 business days. I'm starting to get a little worried, but I heard it could take up to 4 weeks! I was wondering if anyone else here is in the same boat as me, and maybe we could wait it out together. I want my ipod!!!

For those of you who already received your ipods, what took longer? Processing or Sent to Vendor?

Yeah, I've been processing for 3 days now, and no STV, but like I jsut wrote in a different thread, they seem to go STV about every week to week and a half, so it should be any day now...I hope!

I can't wait to STV!!

finally got responses to my CS inquiries

"This processing time is normal. We apologize for the delay and working working with the vendor regarding the next shipment."

and

"Thanks for your email about your order. iPods are currently on backorder because of their very high demand. But, the good news is many will be shipped out from our vendor in the near future. Please be patient and understand we are doing everything in our power to get your order out the door and into your hands. You will receive your iPod, rest assured. Please get in touch in a little while if nothing changes."

It has now been 16 days (12 business days) since my order began processing, quite a difference from the 3-5 day estimate. I have submitted CS inquiries on the 16th and the 21st and have still not received any human responses. Please respond and either let me know when you estimate the next group to go "Sent to Vendor" or at least assure me that it is normal to take this long. Thanks, Jen


now... are they on backorder or is this normal? shouldn't my account have been "sent to vendor, waiting on product" if it was on backorder? why should it take so long to PROCESS?

Hmm...conspiracy theory? Maybe Apple's run out of the "current" version of 20GB iPods and are ramping up production on the next gen iPod. www.thinksecret.com (I think) had a report a month or two ago about what the next gen iPods will be - they might b ditching the white-front-chrome-back look for an all brushed aluminium skin. Which, in my mind, is WAY cooler. Now,if I could get an iPod in titanium... ;-)

Aww.. I like the white ones! But it doesnt really matter because worst case scenario I could just exhange whatever we get for a store credit toward whatever I want.... but regardless, they should at least be STV, even if they are waiting on product. it shouldn't take that long to process (ie give the vendor our info)

FYI, I just checked on Apple's website, and according to their store, if you were to order one via them, it'd ship same day / next day. OBVIOUSLY, Gratis isn't buying them direct from Apple, but it certainly doesn't seem like there's a shortage of them.

Agree.. I really don't think there's a shortage of them... and regardless, if there was it should only affect shipping, not STV... unless they are switching vendors because the current one ran out of ipods while they abound elsewhere....

well it's only my 3 business day so I'll wait a while before I start complaining.

Hey jennie084, you've been saying hopefully STV tomorrow for over a week now and I have kept track only since I got approved a week ago.

The waiting must be pure torture for you.

But, seriously, in the Gratis terms and Conditions, it does say
"After a user completes the steps required to receive the product, Gratis Internet will take measures to ensure that the user receives orders within a reasonable amount of time. Delivery times vary amongst product suppliers, but most orders are received within 30 days from placing the order."

I've been waiting since 3/8 ... some "3-5 days" ( This is my first free item so I'm antsy, and people are starting to say "I told you so!" oops

I just want some sign that my ipod is on its way...... I could understand if the holdup was at STV...

jennie, if you've been processing since 3/8, you should have gone STV today. I did, and I've only been processing since 3/22... that's 4 business days. ;)
