Well, I have been reading about the cameras all day today.

Personally I decided to not go with the Canon 7.1 and I decided to go with the Sony Cybershot DSCM1 5MP because the reviews say it has GREAT video recording as well as being a great Small camera

I chose the S70. Canon makes very nice cameras, and this one is not an exception.
Personally, I try to stay away from all "two(+)-in-one" things. It's either one, or another, rarely can it be good at both things. This is referring to the DSCM1.
For reviews of digital cameras, check www.dpreview.com , www.stevesdigicams.com , and www.imaging-resource.com . These are the only sites I trust for camera reviews, and you rarely can go wrong by following their advice

megapixels mean nothing

my personal preference is the Nikon 5400 but given i want to go for a digital rebel i would get the dsc-m1 as it has a better resale value

I don't mean megapixels. Personally I'm a huge fan of Canon (Have A95, and have used the regular Rebel TI a lot, and want the Digital Rebel as well).

a great site to research on these camers is Steve's DigiCams. It has a nice review along with detailed pictures of the product.

Yeah, no kidding!

I wouldn't go out and by a $500 camera for myself. This is gonna probably be my nicest treat from Gratis

i want to get that sony cybershot badly i just love the look of it, and im sure almost all these cameras are way better then average as far as quality, so it wouldn't be too much of a difference which one u got in that area.

im just lovin the cybershot, small with a nice big screen
