Hey, I'm looking to see who out there is in the next batch of "processing" orders.

I sent gratis an email asking when the next shipment is going out, hopefully i'll get a response. I read elsewhere on this board that it's possible the orders will go out sometime this week or next.

I'm processing. I sent an inquiry last week and they said they'd hopefully have them out in the next two weeks.

I've been processing since 3/29. Should I send them a message or just wait it out?

I'm still waiting for approval. I'm on business day 5 today... I need my mac now, I'm sick and tired of maintaining windows instead of working in windows.

Linux runs SO nice on my machine, but there isn't any Macromedia software for linux (that i'm aware of)

Still waiting to be approved. Got my 11th green yesterday....wasn't expecting it... but if it comes in handy, that will be nice.

I'm very anxious to get this thing. Been wanting one since it came out, but haven't had the $$ to go buy one.

Anyone send them an email and ask them? Getting soooo anxious.

Yeah, I have now been processing for 3 weeks. ?

stavros

NO! Don't ship until Tiger will be on them!!! -D

I don't know if we'll be eligible for the cheap upgrade! I'm happy with "Processing"

chillywilly

18-04-2005 10:54:30

Actually, I wouldn't mind a quick shipment... Tiger or not. My PC is dying a slow death and it sorely needs a rebuild before I lose something.

If I got it the next two weeks, I would be happy.... but for now, I've borrowed an external hdd to backup my computer just in case something happens.

whenrabbisattack

18-04-2005 12:05:21

yeah my laptop is about to bite the dust... i'm willing to spend $70 for tiger, it's well worth it. i'm gonna buy a 1 gig stick of ram and bring it to the apple store and tell them to install it, then i'm going to ask for a copy of tiger.

since it's obvious we won't be able to get the $10 upgrade.

processing since 4/15 ) exactly 2.5 months after i started freeminimacs

What's so good about Tiger, anyway?

it's the newest OS, i like new.

Avsrock90

18-04-2005 14:19:42

Don't be stupid. It is not worth getting it a week earlier to have to pay $70 for the OS. Give me a break.

That's about when I started the site... sometime in Feb.

Nice to know it's almost here.

As for the $10 upgrade, I think there will be a way to get one. I'm checking into it now to see what options we have.

whenrabbisattack

18-04-2005 14:51:13

i meant that if we can't get the $10 upgrade i'm just going to pay the $70 for it.. i have a friend who also owns a mac who is helping me pay for it.

--edit--

i think all we really need is a packing slip containing

the date
the contents of the package
the serial number of the mac mini, which in our case would be M9687LL/A or M9971LL/A

qualifying computers

apple seems to emphasize that you need to get it from an apple reseller... isn't eCost the company that actually vends out the macs?

I think Gratis buys them direct from Apple, if I'm not mistaken. Then they get shipped directly to eFullfilment

i sent jake from gratis an email (jake is awesome) about the packing slip... here's his response

------------------------------------------------
Chris,

I am happy to hear that you have completed your requirements for a Mac Mini and that you will be receiving it soon! When you receive the Mac Mini, make sure to register your serial number with Apple so that you can take advantage of any warranty that they have for their units. The webpage to check out to find those link is http//www.apple.com/support/service/help/warrantycheck/ .

When you register the Macmini, you should be able to take advantage any of their offers. The packing slip should be a part of the package too. I am just not sure exactly what information that the slip will contain. I think that the most important thing to do in your case would be to register the serial number with Apple and then you can take advantage of any offers they have.

Thank you for being a loyal Gratis Network customer and I hope you enjoy your Mac Mini(those things are pretty slick). Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Jake

Hey Rabbi, since you have been in contact with Jake, and the mini's are STV, you want to ask him if they will have Tiger?

Thanks!

+ karma for you rabbi...

I submitted an order question under my account asking the same info about a packing slip.

Good to know Jake was helpful in this.
