Im having problems with my minimac.. dont know how to or what to do to fix them.

1stli I was having problems with safari, it would crash everytime i went to some certain sites like gratis network's sites and others li of the few i tried.

2ndli When i try to install updates. it tells me the following

The update "w/e the updates name is" could not be verified and expanded correctly.

Make sure you have permission to write to /tmp/501/TemporaryItems/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate, then try again.

PLEASE HELP ME GUYS... what should I do and what can i do?

liNotes I already reinstalled to see if it would fix the problem. it didnt.
I deleted Safari, and downloaded Firefox lifor the browser problem to get fixed.. li Now i can search w/e but in sometimes when i try downloading a quicktime movie. it crashes on me.

and i still cant do any updates. and my minimac is going slow.. or maybe the programs take a lil while to upload like bandgarage?

Did you ever upgrade the memory yourself?

Did you try fixing your disk permissions? Open up Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility. Select your hard drive and fix permissions. That's why you can't do your software update. Fix those and it should work.

You really shouldn't have had to reinstall OSX right out of the box - this isn't like a Windows box.

Garageband does take a minute or so to load up....

Safari usually works very well. I've tried Firefox and Mac and don't like it.

Did you add any other programs or alter anything? The system is very protected, but I guess it's possible you trashed something you weren't supposed to trash.

I'm wondering if it's a memory problem. Lots of random glitches could easily come from that on the freshest of installs.

Neo,
True. Good point. Didn't think of that.

I think first step is to fix the disk permissions and see if that helps...
