I applied for approval on Monday as well, and haven't heard anything. Makes me nervous too, because this is my 4th attempt at approval! Same 2 referrals keep getting put on hold, then taken off. Humbug. It's always taken them some time to get back to me, which worries me. They have, however, made note of this (so they say) in my account, and one of my referrals' said they told him that they made a note in both his AND my account about the issues we've run into. Fingers crossed...

Just got this a few minutes ago...

"If an item has already shipped to your work address the order will be automatically held. We advise shipping to an address that has not previously received an item from us."

So, that says to me that if anyone here had already gotten an iPod, they'd place it on hold. Well, I know I'm the only one here that's done this, so I'm going to have it shipped to me at work. What's the worst that can happen? I've already been though the works with them, what's another dozen CS inquiries? lol

Well, we'll see soon enough I guess. I submitted for approval last week -- on Friday 3/11. Still waiting.

No way they can claim my referrals aren't unique -- they're spread out all over the country, each in a different state, and none are relatives. No chance of duplicated names, addresses, or IP's. If they put ME on hold, I'll definitely feel like something fishy is going on. I doubt it though, why would Gratis risk their good reputation by being shady? Their reputation is what has kept them in business all this time. I'm sure honest mistakes are made or over-zealous auditors get hold-happy at the slightest thing, but to hold EVERY submission in one week is extremely unlikely IMO.

Ive sent in two customer service tickets about this. I sent in one the other day, and I got a shitty responce. I sent in one today, and am still waiting for them to respond, and it was at like 3, two hours before the business day ends.

I feel that if I had spent all this time I spent on freeipods on something productive, then I would have been so much better. In fact, if I had just worked for those hours I would probably have had more money than an iPod costs.

Also, I haven't been approval processed yet. I submitted last week Tuesday.I guess I'm just holding my breath for a hold in the end.

I don't agree! If that was the case then why are some of the other sites getting 2 dday approvals?

I sent in a ticket asking why I was on hold on the 14th and I sent another one in the 17th. I have yet to get a human response to either one of them!

I got approved on the 15th and submitted on the 7th. HOWEVER, this was my 4th attempt at approval, and have submitted now 21 CS inquiries to them. What I've noticed is that if you get a reply from them that even wafts of a canned or automated response, immediately re-submit the same question. They actually get you something real, I know this because there were both grammar and spelling mistakes in their replies. I'm still processing a the moment, and expecting that the next STV should be any moment now.

RealtorKen, yes, you do need to re-submit for approval once you're off hold. It might help you to request manual approval...submit a CS inquiry as soon as you hit the approval button. You'll get a canned response, but they state that they're supposed to read all your inquiries when reviewing your account, so it should be noted by them. Personally, I requested manual approval and it didn't speed anything up, nor did it help because I still got put on hold that time. I also requested it this time, and politely quoted several of their responses and got a pretty nice message back from them. I asked if they could scrutinize my account, and two of my referrals that kept getting on hold, very closely, blah blah blah...maybe they were shocked that someone would ask to be checked CLOSER, and finally relented!

This is a game, and it's all about perseverance. I've heard of others who got approved on their 4th try. It sucks, and the time I've invested into this could have bought me a new Photo iPod, but I just made up my mind that it wasn't going to NOT happen. If you're legit, and determined, you'll get approved. Eventually.

Dear Gratis, One of my referrals shows on hold. I have NOT comitted fraud. What is the exact problem with the account. I have contacted the referral and he has said he has completed everything correctly. He is interested in the offer and I did not "walk him through the process." I do not have multiple accounts. My referral that they put on hold by accident before, was put the fuck on hold again! Im so damn pissed off right now. They took him off hold before, because they had made a mistake. I want my god damned iPod. My mom is pissed at me, and saying she told me so! God damn. I sent them a cust service ticket about this. I think is is piss poor work by Gratis. Instead of me submitting a secound time after he was taken off hold, I should have been approved right way.

Hovigga, not to sound clicheéd, but I feel your pain! They did that to me 3 times before I got approved. Like I said, I've submitted 21 CS Inquiries. Mine kept getting off hold and back on and so on... iPod Shuffle, the bad kind! My 2 work with me at my office, so I could just mention it to them and POOF, they were off. It does suck, and you're absolutely right to be pissed off! Once you cool off, start in with the CS inquiries and stay on them. But Be polite! That's what got me out I think...

yeah this sucks - i got to thinking about it and a while back the refferal that got put on hold me and him are friends and so he was completing free mini macs - i didnt have a credit card and so he lent me his to do it with - mabey they think its the same account because he used the credit card i used with mini macs for free ipod - but they wouldnt put me on hold for that would they? if they did do you think i could get it worked out?

As somebody else here said, and I've experienced it myself, following up with another CS ticket will usually result in a personal response. I know when one of my referrals had a problem and I contacted CS, they replied with an automated response that didn't answer the question. I immediately sent another reply explaining that the canned response wasn't helpful. The next day I got a personal response from a human that addressed my specific problem.

It might be worth a shot...

I think some of their processes on putting people on hold has a good chance of being wrong - for example the IP address thingie.

I had 6 greens and 1 green was put on hold. I know the guy and this is the only one he's done. He's on hold for some reason now. Maybe his IP address was used before by someone else since the ISP uses DHCP.

Well, he doesn't care since I paid him to do this for me and he's never going to log into his account ever again. But, still .... it's kinda scary coz' what if it's your account?

I take fraud seriously and i wouldnt have let this happen if i could have. I would also like to know if I had been talking to him while he filled it out wouldn't that have been breaking the rules by "walking him through?" Gratis please dont punish me for my friends mistake.

I personally don't understand the "walk through" I think it is a back door to get out of sending too many iPods. The answers they have given me would lead one to believe you can not even tell anything about the process to a potential referral.

Wow, Ken, Sounds like they're really trying to squirm out on you. I'd keep after them, persistent and polite. I've noticed (because I tried getting belligerent with them) that they seem (to me, anyway) to respond better if you're pretty respectful. Putting in statements like "I take fraud seriously, too," and "I understand your concerns" are good phrases that might help. Then again, it might depend on the CS person, too.

The "walked them through it" line is BS in my opinion, because, really, they can't prove anything to that end. There's no quantifiable way for them to know that someone was "walked through. I could be visiting a friend it Tulsa, OK (disclaimer I don't know anyone in Tulsa, OK) and ask them for a CC, sign up under their name, complete an offer using their info, on their computer and gratis would never know the difference. Unless they have psychics...which would really piss me off. wink Damn psychics (said in Homer Simpson-esque voice)

At any rate, I'd keep on 'em. Don't let the bastards get you down!

Well, here we are, it's been 2 weeks to the day since the last STV...ANYONE out there gone STV since then? I haven't seen anyone saying they have, so I'm assuming it's a big no. At any rate, even if you discount the day I ordered, it's been 5 business days, and no change in status. Any day now, I hope... roll

Well this is my current ticket list. If you notice I even tried the may have a violation. Still nothing...just filed a complaint with BBB and am ready to file my complaint in small claims court. I am going to give them 10 more days. Yes I know the tems of service are going to be tight to try and beat but for the cost of filing $36 it would be worth it in my mind to make them hire an attorney in my state to defend them. It would cost them a lot more then the cost of the damn iPod. I currently have 2 unrelated cases I am involved with. Plaintiff on both, 1 in Federal District and 1 in State Supreme Court. So I have no problem making them apear =li)

being a dildo is the easiest way to stay on hold on gratis sites. just nicely and calmly explain the situation over and over. most of the time they'll take you off hold eventually unless you really fucked up like greened for yourself 2-3 times

Ken, slow down, man. I got really frustrated there for a while, too, and I've been at this since september. Threats, BBB complaints (I threatened one once, they pretty much did nothing) and litigation won't get you an iPod any faster. Oh, and what state DO you live in, so I don't go there and piss you off, get my ass in court! ;-)

I got a question for those of you that have been put through the ringer by gratis.... Do they automatically ask a bunch of questions up front when you're waiting for approval?

I've been waiting to get approved since 4/18 and I'm wondering if they're gonna start asking a bunch of questions.

10 days isn't that long yet. A lot of us had to wait anywhere from 14-19 days just recently. Worst case you probably only have around another week or so to wait. Of course then you have to wait at least a week while its "processing" and then another week after its STV. And then another week till all of the planets are in alignment...So you should be good to go in like August. wink

btw they don't ever ask you questions out of the blue afaik. Either you'll get put on Hold or one of your referrals will get put on Hold. Then you or your referral will have to make a customer service inquiry. Again its afaik but don't expect them to just start asking you questions. Your notification that they have a question for you is that they put your account on Hold.
