Has anyone found any decent KVM switches for around $50 or less? It looks like if you want to get a decent KVM switch with USB from either Belkin or D-Link it's going to cost $60-$100. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen anything different.

for KVM switches, do BOTH the PC and the Mac have to be on to power it?
i plan to get a USB KVM switch, but the reason I love the mac is that its so quiet compared to my PC (which sounds like a vaccum cleaner). If I have to keep my PC on, it totally defeats the Mac's noise-quiet design.

The KVM I had didn't require more than one PC to be on (or even plugged in) for it to work. You can look through my previous posts for the one I got.

a kvm switch allows you to use one set of Keyboard, monitor (Video), and Mouse between multiple computers. You plug all the computers into the KVM, and the keyboard/monitor/mouse into the kvm. Then with the press of a button (or keyboard sequence) you can switch between controlling the different computers.
