[quote975bebfdd4]as soon as the item is shipped a dhl tracking number will be provided, thank you[/quote975bebfdd4]

I went shipped 2 days ago but yesterday I received an email saying Im shipped and should receive my xbox in 7-10days. I don't think they are using fillpoint anymore.

ye same here. i saw in one of the freeminimac threads, someone had a link to DHL that you could put in your order number & shipping zip code and it would provide you with a tracking number.

i tried this and got some order for optical glasses shipped in february. anyone figure out who and where these things are shipping from?

willietanner

14-03-2005 10:01:44

No news here. I still assume that nobody has received an xbox OR a tracking number yet? I haven't been checking the posts where you brag about receiving stuff...

Has this ever happened where shipped status has changed before stuff has actually been shipped to people? i know that with the other video game systems, it is often the opposite, where people receive their product and then their status changes from STV to shipped a few days later.

Hmmm...this is interesting. Gratis did the same thing yesterday with the iPod shuffles. They were all marked as shipped by Gratis, but now, almost 20 hours later we still have no sign of shipping from DHL...

josiah296

16-03-2005 08:15:52

dang, anybody received their X-box or got a tracking number? It's been a few days now, and still no sign of anything...

willietanner

16-03-2005 09:00:06

Still nothing here. I sent a customer service inquiry on Monday, inquiring as to the vendor that the xbox was "shipped" from. If they can provide me with one, hopefully we can test DHL using the reference number to see if it is in the system. Or at least you could have some sort of info regarding the shipment. I had a shuffle shipped on Friday, to CA that has already arrived. The fact that nobody, not even on the east coast has received an Xbox, makes me think something is odd with our shipping, but FreeOffersNow, who knows everything about everything, said he had never heard of a product going "shipped" status without actually having shipped...

pinkledeez

16-03-2005 09:05:04

Hey guys...I've been watching this post for a while now. I'm in the same boat y'all are "status shipped" but no actual information.

Hasn't it been a week now?

I mean, I know they're legit b/c I've already got a free ipod...but this waiting game sucks.

Tib

16-03-2005 09:25:17

i'm not sure if this is the case but when i saw one of the other people who recieved their ps2's it was shipped using USPS so it was like parcel mail which can take up to 10 days. Hopefully thats the case cause it does seem weird that is has been 6 business days since mine when shipped and i'm on the east coast.

Something weird is going on with their website.

Whenever I log on, an envelope appears in the upper left corner telling me I have a "customer service response".

However, the last service issue I sent was in January...and it wasn't even an issue.

Not sure what's going on over there P

willietanner

21-03-2005 11:21:07

I still have not received a reply from Gratis on a customer service inquiry which i submitted on 3/14 and followed up on 3/17. I suppose that I will wait until Wednesday, and then submit a new inquiry since there is a specific request if your item shows shipped and you have not received it after 15 days. Just thought I'd let people know that even inquiring to customer service seems ineffective on this issue.

josiah296

21-03-2005 12:03:37

its been like 3 weeks since they told me it was shipped. I sent them an inquiry. no response yet.

willietanner

21-03-2005 12:33:22

according to the day you posted on page one of this thread, its been about 12 days since yours shipped, not three weeks. three weeks ago you were still presenting us with your expert theories that microsoft would no longer be making the xbox, as seen below

"Look, I'm seriously wondering if Microsoft just isn't going to bother making any more X-Boxes. They loose money on every one they sell, and the time-frame for making money off licensing and games is such that the margins on returns for making a profit on producing and shipping a bunchof new OLD x-boxes probably isn't big enough to warrant it.

So I'm thinking they're thinking the just stop making old x-boxes and funnel all the money they would spend on LOOSING new OLD x-boxes into the NEW NEW x-boxes, if that makes any sense. "

hopefully nobody is relying on this guy for any legitimate info.

Azrail

21-03-2005 12:51:36

Well, its obvious that the xboxes haven't actually shipped even though they say they have. Why is gratis so bad about letting us know whats going on? They have to realize they messed up. Screw ups happen and I can accept that, but its ridiculous that they are not responding to inquiries or letting us know whats going on. We shouldn't have to wait 15 days when there is obviously something wrong.

Argh!!!

mapStuart

21-03-2005 13:11:34

I agree that its not cool to just leave us in the lurch - but to a degree Gratis has to rely on other vendors and the information that is supplied to them. Its feasible that their vendor did say these orders have shipped, but now all of us are griping about where are the XBOXs. So, Gratis has to go back to their vendor and ask what's up. If Gratis is getting the run-around themselves then they may not have any definitive info for us.

However, with that said (and giving Gratis the beneft of the doubt), its still inexcusable that they haven't at least informed us of what's going on. All they need to do is let ONE of us know what the issue is. Makes you think it is something that they've done and are loathe to admit it.

Also, willietanner - I agree with you about Josiah's exaggeration, but ease off him. He's a good guy that's just passionate (and a little impatient) about these things.

Peace to all. We're getting free XBOXs - they'll come sometime. I know folks were screaming back in September/October when the 20GB iPods were totally back-ordered and none were showing up. People whined and bitched about service and how this was unacceptable - but I wonder what they'd say now, 4-5 months after receiving their free iPods... Sure its a hassle - but where else (aside from other freebie sites like OC and such which you can still do) are you going to get $2000+ worth of free stuff for your time.

dcrainmaker

21-03-2005 13:30:53

MapStuart...agreed...but what gives on the PS2's because the same thing seems to be going on.

I got nothing but love for Gratis, but I'm just wondering why my status changed but no PS2.

Lunarpancake

21-03-2005 17:33:04

situation now seems that gratis just doesnt give a rats ass

mapStuart

21-03-2005 18:42:46

Yeah, it does have the appearance like Gratis is trying to hide from something.

I still tend to give them the benefit of the doubt, though, and regardless of what the issue is, I know the solution for me is patience - Gratis has always come through and I don't see why they won't now. Its these sorts of unexpected complications that I'd have to think piss the hell out of Gratis. The process is supposed to be simple and require little actual hands-on work (time is money for them). So, they've scoped out exactly how many referrals someone needs to get a free item (in this case its one of the the fewest they require) and they can still make a profit. But every time they have to answer a support email (that's not automated - which as we all know is rare) or follow up on some screwed up referral, order, shipment, etc - they start chunking into their profit. So, I can see how them might just be sitting back waiting for the 15th day after saying shipped in order to let us know what's going on. They've already specified it in their help section, so they're probably just hoping that by the 15th items really WILL be shipping and it'll be easy for them to inform us of that. Up until then, they've already stated on their site to wait 15 days, so they're under no liobligationli to keep us in the loop - obviously it'd be better customer service, but ultimately that's not what they're in this game for - they provide the minimal amount of customer service expected and feel giving a free $150-$500 item away for free entitles them to that. To a certain extent I agree...

I'll get more agitated if after our 15 days we're still getting the cold shoulder...

agreed but still.......it would be much easier and better for their image as a company if they jsut solved this problem.

this is why i like OC so much.....my laptop came with a busted DVD writer, averatec informs me i need a receipt for warentee repair. I email OC they respond asking for fax # to send the receipt to....it was that simple.

now if this had been a problem with gratis, it would have taken 4 weeks to get asfar as i have. and they probably would have told me tough shit they gave the product, its not their fault averatech made a broken dvd writer.

Well in my book you are a moron, you can't limit what people are passionate about, thats what makes us individuals. If we were all passionate about the same thing life would be pretty boring. Just because something doesn't make sense to you doesn't make it wrong. In fact many great people only got where they are because they were passionate about everything they did, from the mundane to the vital. In fact if you don't end up where you want to it's probably because you limit what you can be "passionate" about. Even beyond all that if we were to go off of your premise that their are only certain things worth being passionate about you didn't even mention love...but that would start me off on another tirade so I'm just going to let it go

Willie, you're pretty passionate about getting on people for being passionate. You should add that to your definitive list of what people are allowed to be passionate about.

Note as a matter of principle I'm passionate about just about everything in my life. Its just how I roll. But just 'cause I'm passionate about them doesn't mean there isn't varying levels of "value" within those things. Running my business I'm passionate about, just like I'm passionate about my friends and passionate about getting my free damn X-Box. But being passionate about all three doesn't equate equivalent value amongst all three. You'd be a moron to think so...

which, of course, seems to be your MO for things around here.

I gotta admit, I enjoy reading this post. It's funny to watch you guys take jabs at one another.

Everyone's made good points about their personal opinion, but that's all it is YOUR PERSONAL OPINION.

willietanner

22-03-2005 15:06:14

Of course, one might wonder if ones parents would be dissapointed with their offspring being a total jackass on an online forum, but that's just me. The assumption again being a level of thoughtfulness you've yet to attain. Thankfully, as stated before, the sum total of one's passions isn't limited to getting free stuff or hanging around on a forum.

You can call whatever it is you do a hobby, much like the rest of your mediocre existence. It'd have to be; where else would you find the motivation to be such a monumental prick.

I assume lots of you are putting in your "it has been fifteen days since i 'shipped'" notice tomorrow. I put in mine after Gratis business hours, and I received a canned response, that doesn't even seem to recognize that my item is listed as "Shipped" I'll post it, just becuase its another frustration that you'll likely encounter as well

>Due to the high volume of customer inquiries, we cannot provide each person with a time frame of when they will each receive their order.

We ask that you be patient during the order fulfillment process as it is not an "instantaneous" process. Orders are grouped together in the time period that they are initially placed by the customer and then sent to the product's vendor for the orders to be fulfilled.

Once your order is placed with the product vendor it is processed and then shipped to you.

When your order ships you will be notified and will receive tracking information (tracking number not applicable to freehandbags.com) to follow your order's shipment. Please be patient and your account will be updated when your order ships.
Again, we cannot provide individual order updates; your account will update itself as soon as any change to your order status occurs.

can you cancel your order, then order a ps2 instead? They wont make you get another FOUR referrals?

Once an order has been STV - the option to cancel the order is no longer available. So, you'd have to try and pursue it via their online help system - so that's sort of a crap-shoot. Also, folks are having similar problems with the recent STV/shipped with the PS2 as well aren't they (according to dcrainmaker and others). So, you might not be better off ordering the PS2...
