nice, I am thinking about getting the sony and then selling it and purchasing a 17" lcd with 12ms or less response time with DVI input. I want the samsung, but I'd like dvi. Any suggestions on a monitor that meets those specifications? 17", 12ms or less, dvi.

samsung makes a digital version of the 710N which is called the 710T i believe. That monitor would meet your requirements.

What about a 19" LCD, DVI & 16ms response time?

The ViewSonic VX910[=http//www.pricegrabber.com/search_techspecs_full.php/masterid=2873817]ViewSonic VX910 looks like a great monitor that's only a little more than what you'd get by selling/exchanging the Sony 19". CompUSA carries the Sony for $435.28[=http//www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=50315201&pfp=BROWSE]$435.28 and the ViewSonic for $449.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate.[=http//www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=311509&pfp=BROWSE]$449.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate. So you could possibly get a little money back if you were to do this. Though if you do want to upgrade to the ViewSonic, be sure to get one made after Dec. of last year.[=http//reviews.cnet.com/5208-7591-0.html?forumID=26&threadID=90090&messageID=1012284]made after Dec. of last year. The older models had 25ms response time and only the newer ones have 16ms.

I'm actually going to try to exchange the Sony at CompUSA and get the ViewSonic. Though I may also wait until my next paycheck and try to upgrade to an Apple 20" Cinema Display which is 1680 x 1050, DVI and 16ms response time.

I'm looking for a 17" because I will be going dual screen with my current 17" flatpanel. I would like dvi simply because my 6800gt supports it ) I still haven't decided if it's worth the trouble, however, to get the sony, sell it, then buy another monitor rather than just getting the 17" samsung and settling with analog.
What are the current shipping times on the samsungs and sony's after the account is confirmed and goes to processing?

I am going to sell my 19" on eBay and get http//www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-116-347&depa=0 or http//www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=24-001-185&DEPA=0 depending on how much I sell it for. I could even buy the Samsung 17" 710n from NewEgg and save some money, pocket the rest. -)

I would also like to know [quote7979062fb0]What are the current shipping times on the samsungs and sony's after the account is confirmed and goes to processing?[/quote7979062fb0]

I bet that 19" Samsung monitor is SICK! 8ms response time and that is not a bad price at all. CNET recently had an article on how Samsung is making the best LCD monitors of any company right now.

It is basically like your local classifieds. Craigslist works better for certain regions than others.

Basically, find your region. Pick a category and post up your ad.

People will call you or email you depending on what contact info you leave. You then meet up and conduct the exchange.

I usually don't trust shipping things because there is no feedback system, so there is plenty of room for scams.

This is the one that I would want. Thanks for the model number.

Some of the sites show around $480 for this model with the DVI connector.
