Ask your HP Ipod questions here, and read the answers to previous ones (if I can figure out how to move all the topics into here)
Can't. So lets have some fun links!

I swear... I can not wait until people have hPods in their hands... but that still won't silence the idiots.

just wanted to make sure that people realize that the above image is of the 40gb version which includes the dock. The 20gb HP ipod DOES NOT come with the dock. Just to make sure people don't go crazy over HPs having docks cause the 40gb apple does too

Obliviously, they wouldnt make a contract with Apple and not make the iPods Mac compatible.

I haven't found this answer anywhere...what exactly are the differences between the hPod and the iPod except the HP logo on the back of the hPod? And if that is the only difference, then what the heck is the point of the hPod? Greater distribution channels?

Thanks,

Runny

The Hard Drive Manfacturer/Type is Different - thats the difference

And the fact that if you're gonna use it for a PC you don't have to format the hard drive the first time you plug it in.

I bet that a little bit of paint thinner on the back will take that HP logo right off.

LOL - but it might damage the shine so be careful

The HP logo is laser engraved onto the metal. You'd have to buff it off in order to remove it.

The hPod actually WASN'T formatted when it arrived, in that as soon as you plug it in the iPod updater utility tells you that you need to run it to format the iPod for Windows.

Oh, so what they say is not true then

Thanks for the input guys. I am still somewhat of a purist so I think I'll stick with the iPod, even if it doesn't ship as soon. )

I got an hPod. I installed the software CD first per included instructions. I plugged in the hPod. XP picked up New Hardware first as a USB Mass Storage Device, then a Removable Disk, then an Apple iPod. Then the iPod Updater utility ran automatically and informed me that "Your iPod has not yet been formatted for Windows. Would you like to format for Windows now?" at which point it started formatting.

Then I was stupid and rebooted my computer after Ephod finished installing but before the format was done, so I had to do a hard reset of the iPod to get it to format. But ultimately I [bca5f643839]did[/bca5f643839] have to format for Windows before it worked.
