Dell Dimension 4700 - STV, Waiting on Product

Finally! I can't wait for this bad boy.

I sold my Samsung LCD (from freeflatscreens) online for $260 and bought the Dell 17" Ultrasharp LCD for $260.

Now all I get for it is

USB Optical Mouse/Better Keyboard
Logitech Surround Sound Speakers
DVD-burner
PCI-E Graphics Card
Memory Card Reader (I wonder if they make an internal for Dell)
SATA 10,000RPM Rapter Hard Drive (or bigger, 7400RPM HD)

I assume it will take about a week to get. This will be a big boost of speed from my Dell 600m w/centrino.

Sounds good, but I didn't see a lot of drive bays in the Dell (among other reasons), so I went with the Cyberpower myself.

When you get it, can you take some pictures of the inside of the Dell case?

Regarding the card reader, the Cyberpower came with a 3.5" 6-in-one (4 slot) card reader. I think they're pretty cheap, and I'd say to get one of those, but looking at a picture, I don't know if you can "pop out" the floppy bezel on the 4700

I'm STV also... hopefully it comes pretty quickly. When I ordered my LCD from Dell, I ordered on a Saturday. They shipped it on Monday, and I received it on Tuesday (regular Ground shipping... usually takes 2 days from Chicago, but for some reason, it only took 1). Here's hoping that we get them this week!

I wonder if the trade for the Dell Ultrasharp 17" LCD was a good deal from the Samsung LCD.

I probably will do a little gaming, 12ms sounds a lot better than 25ms - but I probably won't know the difference.

I liked the looks of the Dell LCD better - lol.

that's sweet man. i still want a new PC - desktop pc might be coming up next.

I do very little PC gaming, so I definitely wouldn't notice the difference in response time. I absolutely love the Dell LCD though.. can't wait for my Dell PC to get here to go with it D
