iPod Agent is currently the best option IMO. In addition to copying songs from iPod to your computer, you can sync Outlook contacts and calendar, sync weather info, notes, horoscopes, news, and movie times.

Umm....from the website
"iPod Agent is NOT an iPod music manager. It does not allow you to add or remove songs from your iPod. I feel Apple's excellent iTunes software already does that very well and there is no need for me to duplicate that functionality here. iTunes is free as well, so that isn't an issue."

Did I say it was a music manager? The guy was asking for something to transfer his iPod songs to his computer. Ummm... think before you reply? iPod Agent does this best in addition to a lot of other functions you can't get anywhere else.

Why don't you read? It clearly says you cannot add songs to the ipod with that

Why don't you read the title? He wants to transfer music from the iPod TO THE computer, not the other way around. Dumbass.

Nope, iTunes is a one way deal. Just another one of the reasons why it stinks.

you don't need a 3rd party program to copy mp3 files from your ipod to your computer. Just open up your iPod in my computer, then click Search, Find Files and Folders. Go to "More advanced Options" and check "search hidden files and folders", then type in "li.mp3" for the file name, and u will see a list of all the mp3s in your iPod.

I thought taking them off that way didn't work?

It doesnt, the file names are renamed so you'll never find the song you want

...except that in XP you can display tag information in windows explorer. so if you CAN just drag mp3s off, you would be able to view the song info and then retag it once you drag it off.
Theoretically.

LOL no sorry, thanks for playing but please try again.
If it works then it works - I don't know how many times we have to say it before you realize it, but the hPod and iPod are IDENTICAL in all technological function. IDENTICAL. Exactly the same. I've personally never done the drag and dropping from the Fli directories on the iPod via Explorer/My Computer. If it works, then that's good to know.
Just change to Details View and right click on the columns bar to select artist, title, album, etc columns to allow easy searching of your music.
