Extra Referrals

The mention of excess referrals is a common occurance on these boards. It would seem that pretty much all of Gratis's profit comes from these extra referrals. I don't know anything about how much they pay for an iPod, or how much they get per offer, so if anyone could let me know, that would be great.

If they get...$40/referral (too much?)...and pay $240/iPod (too little? I think it is reasonable to assume they get some sort of a discount), then each one is free to them (6li40=240). If it were to work out perfectly like this, then their only net income would be form excess referrals and incomplete offers (which is included, but not really measurable in this poll).

So the question is, how many extra referrals did you have? I ended up with 2 extra because I didn't think some would go through...I felt I was lied to, and then they both went through last minute.

Also, do any of you know more accurate costs?

I know I had at least 10 or 15 yellow and 7 green before I could no longer access that page to see the status of them

Well... also there's the people that get 1-4 then give up. or maybe they even get 5 then don't apply for approval etc.

That's what I meant in my post when I said "incomplete offers." Now that I read it, I realize that is a bad term for it. That would be hard to measure in a poll, since most people that give up aren't gonna stick around here.

Similar to those, I'm sure they make a killing off people that are forever on hold. If you have 4 good referrals, and you cheat, you won't get an iPod, but you can bet they got money for those 4 referrals.

Blockbuster gives $18.00 per referral...I don't think they make 40 an offer

I think we should be able to 'roll over' those excess referrals on other products. I had two extra, that could 'roll over' for other offers.
