I have been processing since last Friday, and I missed yesterday's STV.

I am getting worried that I won't have my iPod by March 4th, which is when our spring break begins, and I will be taking a ski trip. I would like to have the iPod with me for skiing.

If it turns out I don't get the iPod by then, would the following plan work?

1) Buy an iPod at BestBuy a couple days before my trip, use on trip.

2) Get free iPod in the mail

3) Return free iPod to Bestbuy

Eh?

Shouldn't be a problem, but don't take my word for it.

Just look at Best Buy's return policy... It should be clearly spelled out on their website and in the store.

Be careful... Best Buy uses bar codes and if for some reason the bar code on your ipod doesn't match, you'll be screwed...

yeah, but he'll be returning the same one he bought.

He said he was returning the free ipod...

Best Buy around here (SoCal) will only give him store credit for an open box (if it works ok).

Maybe I was confusing?

I woudl try to return the free iPod, unopened. It should have the same UPC as the original bought one.

I checked their online policy, but it doesn't definitely apply to the actual stores.

Why are you trading it in? Are you getting Best Buy merchandise or a different ipod?

He's basically trying to get an iPod on loan. He gets his (with his own money) and then uses the free one to recoup his own money. He doesn't lose anything, and has an iPod to use for several weeks before he gets his.

I'm not sure about that dude, it's hard to tell whether ipods are all coded the same. Very tricky indeed.

in the worst case scenario just sell the sealed free ipod on ebay for full or near-full price!

That's actually my backup.

For anyone that has received theirs, is there any marking on the package?

If there is an STV before March 1, I don't have to worry, but I would really like to take this thing out of town with me.

Do you really need an iPod for your ski trip ?

One drop in the snow, it a goner. Maybe 2 8)

And the battery life is only good for like 8 to 12 hours.

If you do bring it, you will need charger or a laptop.......

O, no marking on the box.
