The "waiting on product" is part of the "sent to vendor" status. It doesn't necessarily mean the item is on backorder.

In a day or 2, go to www.dhl.com and use the track>>by reference option. Put in the order # from your freeipods.com status page, and your shipping zip code, and you should be able to track your iPod that way. The orders are too new to show up there now, but hopefully by tomorrow you should be able to get an estimated delivery time using this method.

There were 9 business days between this latest STV date and the previous one. Then there were 7 days between that STV date and the one before it. And then 6 between the one before it.

If it was me that said Michigan, I was probably referring to one of the posted DHL tracking pages. The one I just looked at (by searching for "STV" in the freeipods.com forum only) said Michigan. Look here

Not usually....sometimes you'll be able to Track by Reference 2-3 days after STV, though. This is really just because they ship before the site actually reflects the status change.

You have search by reference number. There is an option on the tracking page, which you get to by clicking on the tracking tab on the home page.

Well, the FiP iPod has been received. DHL sure ships quickly, and early in the day to a residential area, for that matter. I did the delivery confirmation and they called my cell to let me know that it was delivered, and who signed for it.

Call DHL to have them hold the package for pick up or reschedule a delivery if they have already attempted to deliver the shipment.
mine was scheduled for monday but i saw it was in my city today so i called them and they said i had 30 minutes ot come nad get it before they closed so i hauled ass and got there in 20 and picked it up! woohoo

No one was at home to receive my package either, I just left a signed note instructing them where to leave the package. DHL took the note, and I even signed up for the delivery confirmation, so they called my cell to let me know it had been dropped off.
