trading advice

(i posted this over in trading post but no one replied. i hope it's ok to post it here.)

i agreed to do a trade w/ someone from the forum for a freeipodshuffle referral in exchange for a freeflatscreens referral. i think he's on the good traders list for having gone green for one person. he agreed to go first since i have a lot of positive feedback from trading and he didn't have any. he signed up a little over a week ago under my link and is still yellow. i've tried contacting him just to ask him what offer he did so that i'll know approximately when he'll go green so that i can plan on doing a referral for him or if he wants to cancel the trade b/c he doesn't need it anymore. he still hasn't responded to my email or pm's even tho i know he's gotten my pm's and i've seen a post from him recently. at what point should i just give up on it if i can't get in contact? i don't want to seem like i'm scamming the guy b/c i will sign up for him but i don't know if maybe he's already gotten all his referrals and doesn't need mine anymore so isn't going to bother w/ doing my offer. i've been holding out on trading w/ other people for freeflatscreens just in case it does work out but i don't want to wait forever if it's not going to go anywhere, especially since he's the last referral i need. any suggestions?
