I definately would not choose the gift card, I would much rather get an ipod.

Most likely very few. I have $75 in iTunes gift certificates, and I don't like them (. I'm thinking of getting the iRiver, and all of this music'll ruin me ). So, I think I'm going to get JHymn (the DRM stripping program) and convert ALL of my music (30GBs) to WMA if I get the iRiver.

ehhhh, 250 songs isn't worth 5 refs though in my opinion.

When I found out about FreeIpods.com, It was the free ipod and not the gift certificate that enticed me to participate.

some people who already have an iPod will probably be enticed into getting the iTunes gift cert.

well the advantage to that site is you pay like .50 and get a full album without searching for good files and having to rename them this is a cheap alternative.

Cidated

well you could always use bittorrent and get a full album and not have to do shit lol

nope.
go for the ipod then trade it in somewhere or sell it on ebay if you want a gift certificate.

[quote0a523bd46b="Cidated"]well you could always use bittorrent and get a full album and not have to do shit lol[/quote0a523bd46b]lokitorrent went down yesterday, so i would not use bittorrent.

the main problem is in order to get the torrent, you have to visit a site. that site logs your IP. when they go down, the RI/MPAA has your IP and they can use you.

i think im gonna get an iTMS gift certificate on my 2nd freeipods acct...im going safe now...not taking the risk.

The site only logs the IP if you set up the web server to.

Honestly, if I was running this site, I'd keep the information about the users of the site as low as possible. Log page requests and time, but don't log IP address or log just a cryptographic hash of the IPs.

To be fair, the courts ordered him to give over that info, and it is, AFAIK, unknown exactly what his actual agreement was as far as money and fines go...

But yeah, sucks. (
