Are any of the motherboards on these computers worth getting? I'm planning on upgrading the CPU on it as much as I can, what could I replace the Celeron with?

If not, then I'll just keep it for Linux or something...

Not really worth it, depending on what you're looking to do with it. You could upgrade to a P4 (non-Hyperthreaded), but the board itself doesn't have an AGP port. So, you won't be doing any real gaming with it. I believe there are only 2 memory slots, so you'll be limited in the amount of RAM you can put in it. Basically these are about as cheap a motherboard as possible. Cutting every possible corner and what-not. Unless Gratis changes and begins to offer the 3000 (which is a little better of a motherboard/chipset).

i didn't think replacing processors was a realistic task?...if not, how do you do it? just pull of the old one and slap on the new one?

Damn... Looks like I'll do the Flat Screen offer first and then do the Computer (maybe they'll revise the line-up a bit)

If not, then I'll just get it for Linux. Hey, free is free. Why complain?

I'd been asking about this elsewhere, and thought about starting a thread, so thanks for saving me the trouble. ;)

Unfortunately its the 2400 that they're currently offering (until Dell runs out of them I'd suppose...). However, both don't have an AGP port, but the 3000 can support hyperthreaded processors, the newer Celeron D, and has a better FSB/RAM speed.
