What to put on public flyers?

From the crumbs of information that I have been gathering, it seems that a good way to get referrals is to post some flyers in public areas (sorry if I blew the secret or something).

So all of you "old hands" at this freebie stuff, my question is this - What exactly do you put on there? How do you word your flyers so that they are brief enough to stand out, but good enough to catch people's interest? And what do you do with your referral link? Do you just post the whole thing on little tear-away tabs at the bottom? Do you use your actual referral link or have you bought a simpler url to direct to it? Finally how do you convince people in one flyer that this is a legit process? That seems to be the hard part to me.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure everyone that frequents these boards would benefit from the answers, but if you feel more comfortable just p/m me.

You can always translate your url= address to a .tkurl=http:// address to a .tkurl=http:///url address. www.dot.tk

Keep in mind that many people cannot view .tkurl==http://=http:///url addressses.

Well, I think it would be smart to make a webpage that you can explain the process to them and put links to proof on it. I did that and got 3 greens.

And you can use tinyurl.com, just make little slips at the bottom of the flyer so that people can rip the piece of paper off and take it with them for later.

The flyer could be vague so that they will go to the webpage. Something such as

and then the detachable peices of paper

I think if people saw just the FiP page they wouldn't be convinced. I think that you'd have to write a testimonial page (maybe with some pictures from the brag bag or the gallery on gratis' website)... maybe even that video that got posted here a while ago with the local news story (unlike the other things, nobody can claim that to be photoshopped).

The tinyurl thing is a good idea too. Makes the url far easier to type in.

If you want to shorten your referral link, go to www.co.nr. Your link will appear as www.XXXXXX.co.nr, X being whatever you decide to put. Its totally free.

Norton doesn't seem to like them very much. A few other programs block them as well.

Well, I've never done a flyer before, but take a look at this number (I quickly made this in publisher just now). Do you think it'd attract people? (right now that url is a tinyurl to my tech4free site.. if that means I'm BANT then I'll change it to some nonsense url)

I'm sorry if this is a bit big but

Thanks for the info! I will definitely mention the segment that aired on Fox news a few days ago since that was from my local station.... Hmm.

Who is the chic in the flyer? Lol.

That's what I was thinking. Get people's attention first and maybe they'll be willing to go to your site.

I should print this up and post them around and see if they get me any referrals!

I think I'm gonna try this. There's a thread about it at the gears4free forums. Some people put them in mailboxes but they got yelled at by the postman or something so they paid the paperboy $10 to stick the flyers in with the papers. lol But I think I'd just hang them in stores and around buildings and stuff. I dunno. But the vague poster sounds like the best idea

That's funny. I suppose that is probably an excellent way to get referrals. Especialy if you live on a college campus. Recently, someone put up a flyer advertising some "make 3000 a week!!" ad. All the little slips with the url were gone so I guess it went well for that person.

LOL....DO NOT put them on mailboxes! D

Technically, that's federal property, and using it to advertise can carry more than a simple misdemeanor. ;)

Very true. Watch out.

Also, that girl looks about 14. So unless you're looking to date a child... ?
