Recieved their HPod, then took it to a store and exchanged it for an iPod mini and recieved money/store credit for the difference? Thats what I plan on doing cause I dont have anywhere near 20gb of music.

Keep the 20GB or upgrade to the 40GB and start getting CDs from your public library...enough high-quality album rips and you'll fast be on your way to filling up that thing. )

not sure, but i know costco will exchange for pretty much any reason, as long as you bought it from them. so i'm sure if you weren't happy with the battery power after a while, u could do it. and if they don't have that one, always upgrade to the next gen ;)

At costco don't they keep a record of all your purchases on your card? I always return my phones their...wonder if they have the Apple 40gb in store?

On their website, it says they are starting to ship the 40g and 20g 4th gen ipods on October 1.

So I'm thinking maybe it will be possible to return the 20g hp+ and upgrade to the 40g apple and a possible life warantee.

If that works - it's an incredibly hot deal...
