My IPOD doesn't work anymore all of a sudden. It was running low on battery so I plugged it into my computer to charge it. The ITunes never popped up and and got stuck at the Do Not Disconnect Screen.
And now, the IPOD doesn't work. It's on the screen where it says DO NOT DISCONNECT. I can't turn it off or anything. I can't charge it. It doesn't work.

what are you doing posting this here? Contact apple... remember, you didn't steal the iPod... you have a 1-yr warranty!
BTW, try rebooting your computer and plugging your iPod back into iTunes

Haha. I was wondering about the warranty thing. If we got it for free at freeipods.com, they'll still give us warranty right?

that's right... remember, it wasn't a free iPod... someone DID pay in FULL for it, so it does come with a warranty

Keep trying to reset it by pressing the center button at the same time as the bottom of the clickwheel and holding it like that until you see the Apple icon.
Sounds like there could be dirt in the sync port (look in there), on the sync connector (look at that too), or damage to the cable.
You say you are charging via computer, so is that USB or Firewire? If USB, just try charging via a wall outlet with the firewire sync cable and transformer. If by Firewire, try the USB cable on a USB port, or if it doesn't have one, on another PCs USB port.
It's good to have 2 sync cables to know if it's ever a cable problem.

you might need to reinstall iTunes. i had a similar problem...but after about 30 seconds, the ipod would retrun back to the main menu from the do not disconnect screen. the problem was that iTunesHelper.exe was corrupted somehow.
also, if you have a firewire port on your PC, use that instead of USB1/2.
