Email directly from freeipods.com?

I just received an email directly (ostensibly) from freeipods.com, stating that I had just completed my offer with bargain.com, blah blah, link to their site, link to their site...but I didn't complete anything with them, never even signed up. I did my offer back in the inPhone days. I don't recall getting an email from them when I completed the InPhone offer, so this strikes me as odd.

I also noticed that the link that is my referral link is NOT what their page says. On the site, it ends with a numeric code, while the one sent to my email account has my email in it in full. I clicked on it and it took me to my account site.

Has anyone seen this? What's the deal? I didn't think that they were in the habit of direct emails.

Wow, very odd. I got nothing...but hopefully someone can shed some light here.

I just got the same email and I got my ipod months ago...weird

As far as the referral link goes, I know they changed the way they do it..maybe they ran out of numbers with so many people signing up

I got that too! Actually I received 2, the other was from freeipodshuffles.com. And I was worried because I had just completed bargain.com for my notebooks4free offer and I was worried that somehow it was used for those accounts.

But that is weird, I wonder what's going on.

It's probably Spam from Gratis.

Same here, but just for freeipodshuffle.... Very odd, as one of my referrals completed Bargain.com and turned green after I received this message... Well I hope it's just a glitch.

I just got the same e-mail this morning. I logged into FreeiPods and entered a customer service request. I explained I didn't do the offer with bargain.com, I did the Blockbuster offer. I'll post here if I get a response.

I had the same thing happen to me but I did the Buyers Advantage offer on the Gratis Shuffle iPods Site.... I wonder whats going on...

Well at least I know I'm not alone! I thought it highly odd that I'd be getting anything directly from them. I'm guessing that it's just spam, either from Gratis (but why?) or someone else trying to get you to go to bargain.com. Still, very strange.

Wierd. I wonder if this has anything to do with the other posters who are talking about getting credit for offers they didn't do.

This makes me a bit nervous... I sure hope they don't do a purge of 'bad' data in the system and all my referrals are lost for the Mac Min!

Lance

Or worse yet, someone hacked into Gratis, and is screwing everything up. Oh, what's that noise? Is that the sky falling? lol

So does anyone else see the irony in the traveler's advantage offer? They're offering a free CD player if you sign up...what, so you can have something to play music on as you pass the time until your iPod arrives?

Yeah... It's just that as a database programmer, I know how hard data corruption can be to fix without losing any data. Sometimes the problems are easy to fix.. and other times, may God have mercy on your soul.

So far its seems like its just an aberrant email - no one has actually said that they got credit when they looked on the site. Hopefully the data at Gratis is still intact.

i got that email for freephoto and flatscreen and i had already completed an offer on both of those sites. im just guessing its a system problem. if you havent done an offer you will probably need to do another.

Weird... Well maybe they will respond to whatever is causing this. I already completed my offer several weeks ago I guess thats why I found it so odd.

People have definitely stated that they got credit for this offer, and so have some of their referrals that didn't complete offers. This could be bad (

i believe if the error is on their side and they cant get all the credit issues fixed everyone will be ok. say you did an offer and after this they say you didnt it would be fixed with a simple inquiry, gratis is a big enough company where they will recognize their mistakes and fix them. They may even absorb the cost of all the credited accounts that shouldnt be credited. just my opinion on the matter i could be totaly wrong.

I see this SNAFU as something that could take a while to straighten out. could mean longer wait times for the posse.

This exact thing happened to me. This is weird. I don't think it is Gratis. And now I can't log in. Was my password stolen? NO!! I never even did bargain.com. If you get this email, DELET IT!

i have heard that if you were credited the credit will be taken back unless you really did the offer. someone i know had 13 g for photo and now he is back down to 11g. so if you didnt get it taken away yet you probably will.

Oh well, I don't really mind I had 10 and submitted for approval before the glitch...only problem is I think its delaying my approval while they straighten that out over there.

Too bad they took away the credit for people who completed this offer... I really DO hope they fix that asap, as I requested approval today... Well, I guess I'll have to wait for them to fix the problems on their site...

I got the same thing from freeminimacs.com. My problem was that i had just done that offer for ds4free.com and not freeminimacs. So i freaked out.
