ok i just got my last green D finally

anyways, now ive gotta complete my offer

out of all the $1 offers (FreeBidding.com, Buyers Advantage, Great Fun, Net Market, Travelers Advantage) which one is the easiest to cancel?

can you cancel them online?

or do i have to argue with some jerk that will try to talk me out of it?

thanks for the help

i hear freebidding.com isn't instant as promised; DO NOT DO THAT ONE. It's also not a secure credit card site, I don't believe...

I liked Great Fun the best. You can print out coupons and get free food!

Good for my wants but bad for my waist.

i like the buyer's advantage one b/c you supposedley get a $20 circuit city gift card for signing up. i'll believe it when i actually receive the card, though. you could apply that towards buying an ipod dock which is what i'm planning on doing if i manage to get an ipod.

i don't think any of the trilegiant websites are secure which is what made me really reluctant to do their offers.

Single use credit card numbers from Discover! You can only be charged by one merchant ever on a number, so even if h4x0rs got it, they couldn't use it at all. Makes me feel secure when I'm buying anything. If you need to sign up for a Discover, I know a few sites where you can sign up AND have the possibility of getting free electronics. Just PM me. LOL.

23-01-2005 20:38:06

i have a webcert so it doesn't really bother me b/c they won't be able to get much out of me. i'm closing the webcert account after/if i get an ipod anyway. i highly recommend them to anyone doing these offers, though. a $3 purchase fee is nothing for peace of mind. i would never ever use my real credit card on a non-secure website.

again DONT ASK ABOUT CANCELATION if you must do it in PM form.

Stroid is telling you this because the Gratis terms of service agreement forbid discussion of methods of cancellation, links to cancellation pages, or cancellation phone numbers. If someone from Gratis "happened" by this page, they could certainly use a thread like that to disqualify your account.

Great Fun says they'll send you walkie talkies. My brother is really excited about that one for some reason.

Don't you have to be a paid member of those sites for like 2 months or more (beyond the trial) before you are eligible for the free gifts?

Stroid

24-01-2005 09:24:52

Not necessarly although it is recommended to keep the service or atleast try it out

xlife

24-01-2005 09:41:52

not the free gifts from the freewhatever.com companies, like Gratis, the free gifts associated with the offers, like the walkie talkies. I know to get the 50 dollar gift card from star rewards, you have to be a paid member (at 9.95 I think) for 2 months.

I did Great Fun...still waiting for mine to turn green than I am on the way to a free XBOX, or maybe even a Gamecube [Mario Power Tennis looks cool].

All of those offers lie when they say they won't accept Debit. They accepted my Simon card without any problems.

EatChex89

25-01-2005 14:57:12

they're actually all run by the same company (trigelant) so basically they'll have all the same 'rules' on cancellation, so it depends what gift you want.

No, they send you an email after you sign up, and it links to a form that you fill out and then they send you your gift cards.

i still haven't gotten the second email from buyer's advantage to request my circuit city gift cards, though, and i signed up for that one before complete home. the circuit city ones were the ones i really wanted ? has anyone received the email from buyer's advantage about signing up for the gift cards yet?

I got my walkie-talkies 2 days ago.

They're pretty damn cool, you need an FCC license to operate them for some reason (so strong?). I don't have one, but I don't really care.

Anyone wants pics of what they look like?

LizM

I don't know if this link would work for anyone or not. Basically it's just a site where you fill in your mailing info. I already got my Lowe's cards, and am looking forward to receiving my Circuit City cards!

Thanks to you guys for pointing out that these aren't secure sites. I didn't even notice that. I just assumed that any site that was accepting cc info these days would be secure. Bad assumption on my part. I hope everything's ok.

adenosine

28-01-2005 16:07:02

Actually, I'm suprised they were able to find a merchant that would let them accept CC's without being secure. I know when my company went to get a gateway account to accept them, that they made sure our site was secure.

Single use credit card numbers are the shit... I'm glad I have a Discover Card now.

28-01-2005 19:39:19

LizM- thanks for the link! it looks just like the complete home lowe's link i got in an email so i hope it works.

it still confuses me that those sites are insecure. they even have verisign logos on the sign-up pages. if you register from the main pages of the sites then the forms are secure. hurrah for webcerts.
