extra charges on card from trilegiant

i recently did the buyers advantage and complete home offers and was charged $1 each by those companies. however, i also have 2 pending transactions for $1 each from shoppers advantage which i never signed up for. has anyone else had this problem?

call your credit card company and refuse charges.

They might just be the initial "charge" to ensure the card is legit and has sufficient funds. They wouldn't still be pending if they were actual charges....i dont think anyway

That is not good news... I had some friends do that offer. Hope its not a problem

Same thing happened to me. I signed up for PCSafetyPlus, another TLG offer. I got that charge and a "TLG-SHOPPERSAD" charge pending. What is that???? I called TLG and was told to send a fax, so I did, but I haven't gotten a reply yet.

Could the temporary charges be just the test charges when you signed up, and then the actual charges apear separatly, but the temp charges still havent disapeared?

I did two offers from this company, and i have 2 charges and 2 temps. Could each temp correspond to each charge? I used a one time use number for each offer so it can't be a separate charge.

i'm assuming they're test charges so i'll just monitor them to see if they disappear. i don't really mind losing $2 b/c it's not worth haggling over such a small amount. if there are shady things going on behind it that's when i'll get angry.

it's reassuring to hear that this has happened to other ppl despite it not being a good situation.

it seems like more and more offers are starting to do the pre-authorization charges (test charges), sometimes it's just 1.00 but sometimes its the full 1 month charge. Most of the time they disappear instantly but sometimes it can take 7 - 10 days.

Yeah, Buyers Advantage did a test charge of $9.95. It scared me b/c I was used to places only doing a test charge of $1.

Hmmmm. I guess the same thing happened to me. I used the TLG PCSafetyPlus, and they deducted the $1 from me for the actual offer, but then there was the $1 charge for TLGShoppersAd that was pending. It doesn't appear on my statement now though. Weird.....

just thought i'd mention that one of the pending charges has disappeared.

Wierd.. my discover doesn't show pending charges.. what all card do you have that shows pending charges before confirmation? If it's the Citi imma have to sign up for another cite to try them out.
