That picture was actually taken directly from the Apple website. That was the original "beauty shot" (the diagonal line was an effect to sort of integrate the iPod with the site's design [note the tabs/buttons at the top of the site]). I'm assuming they changed it because they thought people might think thats what the iPod actually looks like (with the different colors) and be turned off.
