My first thought was damn.. it's gonna be harder to get referrals now from people that already have one account (

Definitely a smart move on their part.. a lot of people that have only one account are gonna sign up on other sites without a referral link. Good for them, bad for us.

A semi-related question what happened to the Unsubscribe link that was an option for about a week? It's gone now, but it was next to the Help link. What did it do and where did it go?

Ahhh, thanks techdude. Never let it be said that I am not so lazy that I wouldn't think to scroll to the bottom of the page ;)

Darn Gratis. It's gonna make refs a lot harder!

I was just about to refer some yellows to other sites, this sucks that they put that up.

I think there will a backlash against Gratis for this...not for adding the links, but that the links shown, aren't that member's referral links.
I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard for Gratis to have some script that searches their database for all signups on the same email address, and alters those drop-down links to the correlating referral sign up page for that member. (Only if they signed up for those offers though)
If they did that, they'd be worshipped like Gods. ;)

yea, but they are trying to make a BIG profit....
soo...
if people sign up at 1 site with a member link, and see the other sites from the gratis bar and sign up there (no referral), it would mean taht someone has lost 1 referral.
since this makes it harder for people to use the same person as a referral for 2 or more sites, they dont have to ship as much stuff.
Editadded quote so that people wont get confused.

they should post referral links for like a small amount of $$ ... you'd get referrals...
and yea i hate it. i think it's stupid

they should make each link a completely random referral link. that way, someone gets the new signups, but its still good for gratis because chances are one sign up wont help most people.

There's no point in that either, if Gratis really doesn't want their members to get stuff, like the others said.
It's sad, Gratis has done a lot to help its reputation lately, but takes a step back with this. (
It's only right to have those links go to your referral links if you've signed up on those sites. (If you haven't signed up for all, those would revert to the base url etc)

I think it's in their interest to do so, actually....
I have signed up for about 3 or 4 of Gratis' offers, but that's all so far. Now if they were to do this, I might be inclined to sign up for the remaining ones, and complete my offers for them, bolstered by the knowledge that all my links would appear on all my referral pages.
Doing this, could actually increase Gratis' profits. )

I have to admit, it is kind of nice for checking my refs on all of the sites. Just click that drop-down bar and your there. But it does suck, we just have to step up our game like Dais said.

Well, if all your referrals are friends, or people you know, then there's no problem. If, however, you get a lot of referrals from strangers via advertising your link, you had better change how you do it, to add those other offers you signed up for already.
Still, I think Gratis would get more signups for their other offers, from people who already signed up for one, and saw the advantage of having their link in that menu bar, and doing those too.
