Are you going to keep it or sell it? I mean, you'll have to buy everything else with it. The monitor, keyboard.. etc..

Do you already have the equipment ready for the mini mac? ...
I am a pc user so I have none of the equipment for the mini mac. I just thought it would make dent in my checkbook and confuse me.. but i'd love to get one to sell it to buy more accessories for my pc D

I"m going to keep it.
My mac friends tell me I can hook it up to my normal monitor and mouse, all I need is a keyboard. I'm gonna get a KVM switch so I can have both on my same setup.

Your PC monitor/keyboard/mouse will work just fine. I'm keeping mine and getting a KVM switch.

KEEPING IT!!! A mac has been like my life goal. I had one back in 1993, but have had PCs since then. Pity me (. I'm keeping my PC (for games and stuff), and using the Mac for everything else with a KVM switch.

Is it really true that MACs are slower than PC'S? I am sooo used to a PC now im afraid of switching but i'll get used to it like every other thing!

Don't be afraid. It's a rumor. G4 processors are extremely fast. My only issue with a Mac is compatibility (games, etc.). I'll keep both but do everything except games and TV (I've got a TV tuner in my computer) on the Mac, if or when I get it.

Can someone please explain what a KVM switch is/does?

A KVM switch allows you to hook up many computers to a single Keyboard/Video/Mouse (see! KVM). Basically, you hook the computers to the KVM switch, then your monitor, mouse, keyboard to the kvm switch. Then you can either hit the switch, or press a certain key combination on the keyboard to switch between computers.

i'm keeping the mac mini, running my stuff through a KVM switch so that I can flip over to a PC when i play games. a pc with 3 fans is not good for when you are writing an essay...i can barely think!
and if you dont know how a KVM switch is, look at G4TechTV (especially the screen savers). When they talk about a PC and then a Mac, you see whoeovers talking reaching behind the PC and then a Mac screen pops up. the person just hit the KVM switch so that he flips to the mac.
If I decide to do it, I'd probably keep it for the novelty of it, but actually use it...dunno...$500 looks good lol.
My KVM switch's key combo is Num Lock, Num Lock, Down -- ) heh

thats a sweet idea..I was planning on selling it as im more of a PC fan myself, but the idea of using a KVM switch and keeping it sounds real good now.

Keep it!!! You'll be glad you did. For the guy who said that he heard Macs were slower than PC's... I wouldn't take any more advice from the guy who told you that. I sold three PC's to buy my Powerbook G4 because it's hella faster than any PC, and I had a Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz Laptop. Mac's are Much better, and you don't have to worry about stuff like spyware, and Virus'. I'll never own a PC again after switching. The Mac Mini was created for people to switch from PC to mac because your monitor, keyboard, and mouse will all work with it. Now, for the first time it's affordable (or free in our case.) Why would you want to sell it? Keep it, you'll be glad you did.
BTW, the Mac G4 benchmarks much higher in processing than most PC's for Multimedia Apps.

By the way, another good reason to keep it? I'm using mine in conjunction with my home newtork to use this as a multimedia center for running iTunes, etc through my HDTV's DVI input.

RWillden, you're fitting into Steve Jobs' world domination plan. Get a Mac Mini into every household and then begin using it as a media center! It's so cheap now, then there will be a "Mac Media Center" upgrade (or you can just use an El Gato TV Tuner) so everyone will buy Mac Minis! Notice how it has been said that the Mac Mini is the perfect size for multimedia applications, i.e. in a car, in a home theater rack, etc.

Keep it and use it. The Mac has no known viruses and OS X is EXTREMELY stable (never crashes on my computer at home). Plus the software it comes with will let you do most everything you'll want.
I've used Macs exclusively for over 15 years and will never switch to another system unless I have to. But mark my words, the tide is turning, and Mac is making a comeback. People should be able to use their computer without adware, malware, viruses, system crashes, and security patch after security patch. The Mac mini is the perfect system to start that.
I can't wait to get mine to upgrade my G3 iMac....

nope, it does not have the hardware capability to do that. and since it doesnt have a PCI slot, you cant add a HDTV card onto your pc.
i'm pretty sure its fast enough to watch HDTV media files though.
