Never heard of these, but is Webcertificate a reliable, trustable alternative to using a CC? And also, are you able to use it for your offer with no problems?

Question I think you can get a material webcertificate, so can that function as a credit card as well? Does it function like a prepaid credit card that you can use at stores like a Visa Buxx? Thanks!

GenesisX, I haven't personally used WebCertificates so I can't really speak on them...however what I have used is single use credit cards. Depending on what type of credit card(s) your parents have, I know Citi and Discover (and probably several others) offer single use credit card numbers to protect against fraud. These single use numbers are 100% safe in that they are generated for a purchase, and are only authorized to be used for that one purchase.

That's a brilliant idea from Citi and Discover. I with I had one of their cards (.

Basically, if you don't have your own credit card...you're probably going to have to put on your big boy pants and do whatever it takes to convince your parents that there is no more risk in allowing you to use their credit card than handing it to a waiter at a restaurant. Ask them who they trust more...you, or the waiter ;)

Or use this tactic "Okay well, if anything is charged on your card for doing this, I'll pay for all of it." Then, unless they like to control YOUR money too, they will probably be like "Well...okay."

I'm sorry, but if I was a parent, I'd never let my kid sign up for a pyramid scheme like this. I mean, it's not like nobody has ever found some shady billing policies in some of these companies. Last thing I'd want to do is have to wait 40 minutes on hold on the phone to fix some stupid billing issue on my CC cuz my kid wanted some free electronics. I'd tell his/her ass to get a job!

Besides, I got a debit card when I was like 16. Get a job and a real bank account!

I got a bank account!!! AND A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used my bro's cc lol

I suppose that's why it's a good idea to ask around for the best, most reliable offer(s).

Anyone who has used webcertificate, would it be safe to suggest friends to use it?

Webcertificate is a good idea. I've had a friend use it, but I never have. It works for offers.

Can a webcertificate be used for physical purchases (i.e. grocery store, etc.)? I was thinking of handing these out to my friends to complete the offers for me. ).

Hmmm... I'm not sure. I think you can transfer the certificate to your checking account then use the money at a grocery store.

my parents say the people in there are hired actors from Gratis.

rolls eyes

Really, they would trust me doing this, but they remember the days in the 70's when companies were giving kids the newest records for like, a dime, and then the bills added up. They feel that this is the same thing.

Anyways, I found a person that wants to trade me a $25 web cert for a completed ref, I will get my parents to let me do that, then just use the web cert.

Well, I don't think the business practices of some of the offers are any less shady then the ones you describe in the 70s. They got to make money somehow....

The problem is, if the people catch on to the nature of some of the offers, it's really hard to get them to sign up. I like to stear people to the 'good' ones that I've completed, and that actually have a decent product or service.
