Do the math for a conga, you will be very disappointed at your chances of being a winner.

Straight matrix schemes are the worst way to do this, unless you are in at the very beginning.

to get the ipod shuffle you need 3 referrals, right?

if you are #1 you need 3 more ppl
if you are #4 you need 9 more ppl
if you are #13 you need 27 more ppl
if you are #40 you need 81 more ppl
if you are #121 you need 243 more ppl!!

There are no winners in such a system! get your referrals via marketing!

mmm... I'm not too sure about how being on a conga would prevent you from also getting referral this way.

Also, you should consider the effort that's put in both system. My guess is that you have to spend many many hours marketing to get greens. And someone who's so good at marketing that he can get his greens in only a few hours could probably make more money than the gift is worth working a real marketing job for the same amount of time.

If you are part of the conga, generally one of two things will happen,

You will get all X referrals you need (or the max dictated by the conga)

You will get 0 referrals.

Assuming ANY end point... only one person at max will ever receive a 'partial' number of referrals.

The number of people getting 0 referrals greatly out weights the number of people getting their full load. The odds are stacked against you, badly.

Why would you help somebody out knowing full well that the odds are against you getting anything for it? Your refer all is worth something to somebody. It seems you could get a much better chance by 'spending' your refer all elsewhere.

Of course, some people think that they can be winners playing slot machines....

[quote94db392f46]Why would you help somebody out knowing full well that the odds are against you getting anything for it?[/quote94db392f46]

Because if you're interested in the deal you're going to sign-up anyway?

Besides, it seems that there are all those people who just sign-up because they're interested, not in an iPod or some crap like that, but in trying great products, such as southwind coffee, miracle burn, feel serenity, etc. lol You seem to forget that these people at least get what they joined for.

[quote94db392f46]It seems you could get a much better chance by 'spending' your refer all elsewhere.[/quote94db392f46]

Where? QT? Be ready to also spend (no quotation marks) $7.50 and possibly 'waste' your refer on a scammer.

Look, it isn't slot machines, if you have a brain, you will not join a conga line that has over 100 people on it already. The only reason I joined the conga line was because it had just opened and I ended up being #3 to sign up. I got all of my referrals in a few hours. The line I joined is still moving fast because only 3 referrals are needed. When it comes to joining a conga line, you need to apply wisdom. Some people start conga lines only to serve themselves, placing themselves at the top pf every list on their site. That should be a warning sign. Also, I would not consider joining a conga if there were more than 8-10 people in it already especially if it is for some offer that demands 15 referrals. You only need 3 for the shuffle so joining a longer conga line isn't so taboo. There isn't some endless pool of people willing to sign up for these offers, I bet like 90% of the people you market to will not follow through. That's why you end up hearing stories where people have like 99 yellows and 1 green. And look, a conga line isn't as restrictive as those cell phone sites that charge you a fee to get on the line. Joining the conga line is free and you are not tied down to it. You can always market your referral link own your own. Not only are you helping yourself, you're helping the line move faster.
Besides, there is also the conga circle. Which rotates the referral link individuals use to sign up so that everyone gets a chance to have people sign up under them.

I can't do that and think of it as being ethical.

I could not get people to join a scheme I know would not work, where MOST of the participants would not get what they wanted (a single referral).

How many of these conga people tell people the fact that the wait gets exponentially longer?

I may have to work harder to get referrals, but I can sleep well at night knowing that I told everybody I signed up the bad mathematics behind the plan, and encouraged them not to try.

Come on now, it's not like if conga lines admins were selling guns, dealing heroin, or running a factory 'employing' children. Speaking of which once you get your referrals the ethical way, are you going to use your iPod and still be able to sleep at night not thinking about the kids who made it in the Shanghai factory? lol

You mean, Mac Mini, right?

I fully support outsourcing. America cannot compete with China to be the world's factory. I do not want a job in a factory making iPods or whatever. Outsourcing is improving the quality of living in China. You can either have no job, or you can have a low paying job, I'll prefer the low paying job. Maybe you don't agree with their labor laws, but they definitely could be worse.

When the time comes when my job goes overseas, I'll happily retrain to whatever the market has available for me. I'll sleep well at night knowing full well that somebody got under a dollar an hour working to make my product.

Remember, the market works because of INFORMED consumers. I just want to spread information.

I'm fascinated by this tendency to believe that "the market" is a living entity, that has things available, works, wakes up in a good or a bad mood.

I think that clever people keep the market moving by keeping as many MISINFORMED consumers as possible, that is as many people as possible who will believe that "the market" is an omniscient, infallible, ethical and, most importantly, independent being that decides what's good or possible for them. But we're clearly off topic now....

I can sleep well at night. I don't go around forcing people to join congas. In fact, I feel better joining a conga along with others because we all know what we're doing and we are joining for the same reason. Some people start a conga knowing full well that they only intend to collect referrals for themselves and ditch the remaining members. I did no such thing so what should I feel guilty about? 5 people have completed the freeipodshuffle ipod through the conga I joined and it has only been like 24 hours. Meanwhile, by trying to force people to sign up under you by entering private information on the internet and signing up for prodcuts they will probbaly not use, what makes you so much better? In the end you care about getting your ipod, right? Do you really care about the tons of people that are signing up under you? You care that they complete the offers for your sake, right? In fact, Gratis profits from people who sign up, complete offers, but never go about getting all 5 referrals so since you are supporting Gratis by marketing to all these people, what does that make you?
I really don't understand why you are on some crusade to disuade people from joining congas.
