When an item actually comes in the mail, via UPS or DHL or whatever it comes in...do you need to sign for it or will they leave it at your door. I say this because At the hours that ups comes nobody will be home at my house. Anyone have this situation? thanks

I had no problem. UPS usually comes around 4PM and I'm always home that time. And yes, you have to sign for it.

You could always go to there station and pick it up yourself. Or you could schedule a future delivery date when you're home. That's what I do sometimes...

In all situations like this... contact the actual courier and see what their policy is.

UPS and DHL have bad track records on leaving stuff when they shouldn't. UPS, traditionally, has had this problem, although I haven't dealt with them recently. DHL, on the other hand, HAS done this recently.

Thankfully my laptop is coming by FedEx.

In the last 2 weeks I got the IPOD & PSP from UPS they just left it on the front porch and no one signed for it either.

Yeah, I hate that.

Yet, having a porch could lead a driver to think only you and your family live there. It's worse when it's an apartment building. (

Which is why I've always used my work address for shipping to. The mail room guys signs for the item and I get the package delivered to my cube.

Yea, I do that sometimes. Then the guy takes the note and puts it on the box. P
