I'm still stuck at 5.... but lots of those yellows have assured me that they did sign up and are just waiting to receive credit.

I'm no expert at marketing, but I've had decent sucess pitching this deal to others. I just don't want to 'waste' referrals that I could be using for different sites.

I wouldn't ask how to get yellows. It's greens that matter.
The best way to get greens is to convince people that the offers are great, and that you also could get some free hardware. Ask your friends to do you a little favor, bring up old debts, whatever you need to convince people to do an offer under you. Just don't expect the carrot of the hardware to convince them alone.

I'm worried because a few of my coworkers signed up (wanted to please the boss I guess!) and we all share an IP. I e-mailed Gratis and tried to head it off at the pass. They assured me, twice, that it won't be an issue as long as they all have different mailing addresses.

It's been nearly a month and I'm still not STV. This is sorta BS. I can understand delays after STV, but why don't they at least ORDER the damn things for us already.

These delays tend to really tarnish their reputation. People who never recieved anything start to think they fell for a scam.
They used to blame the iPods as being backordered (When they ordered from eCost)... though I actually called eCost and asked... they had 300+ in stock that week (and you could literally buy them all, no max purchase amount).
I've gotten an iPod... so I know at least a few months ago, they were definately shipping merchandise. I'm still pretty certain mini's will ship. Though I can understand why some people are [i1e480f3ac5]still[/i1e480f3ac5] very skeptical.
Gratis hasn't really done much (suprisingly) to prove themselves.
If it were me, I'd be getting stuff out as quick as possible, and market the company as being a "store full of free stuff".
A perfect example of why this is wrong
majority of Americans don't fill out rebate cards. Why do they throw this free money away? Because it's takes to long, often a hassle, sometimes requires a call or 2 before you see a check. Most don't believe it's worth their effort (and companies bank on that when they offer them).
What does that mean for gratis?
Potential customers may be turned away on the same principle. Even if it's wrongly assumed... it still costs them.
They have built some legitimacy in the past few months... but they definately aren't an example on how it should be done. Some missed opportunities.
Hopefully in a month or so, we'll see some shipping... hopefully earlier, though I wouldn't hold my breath.
