hey, i've logged into my freeipods account from several different computers. if one of these computers has been used to log into a different account as well, will i be placed on hold? or will it raise any red flags for gratis?

an example

i go to school in orange county... i have a place there and thats where i signed up and completed an offer.

i had my sister do an offer at home in san diego.

on the weekends i go home to san diego and i've logged into my account on the same computer that she used to sign up.

Yeah I believe this can be a problem. I had a friend sign up using my work computer which I used to check my status on and her account was considered a non unique referral, so I had to get another one.

so if my friend completed an offer at his house then came to my house 4hrs later i wont get credit because two of the same ip's poppe dup before the account was credited

No, [i35abf445fc]you[/i35abf445fc] don't.

He said [i35abf445fc]Gratis[/i35abf445fc], not Offercentric. As far as they're concerned, 2 accounts from the same IP, is someone trying to defraud them, and quite often they're right.

I'd guess Offercentric is the same, but you say you had no problem, so who knows....

What I do know, is that the guy was asking about Gratis.

if you make 2 accounts from the same computer you're going to be in trouble.

but if you check your account on another computer that someone else made an account on you should be fine. i used to check my account on my girlfriend's computer all the time, and she had an account too. my ipod is on the table next to me....

i think you have to wait until your account is credited from an offer before you go logging in everywhere all willy nilly because i have like 3 ref i can have right now but that logging in from same ip messes up the whole unique user thing

Gratis errs on the cautious side, from what I've read, so either way, I'm not gonna chance it, and wouldn't recommend it.

gratis is pretty picky about their shit b/c they dont want to hand out more ipods than they really have to.

so...maybe you should wait until you get back to your house before you check your iPod account, even though you may have sudden urges to check your account every 5 minutes.

IP is not a good indicator of freud at all.. Most ISPs give out dynamic IP which changes every time you log on and that same IP can be allocated to a different customer at a different time. If they are checking for your MAC address, then they can really proof that you're using the same computer to sign up and/or complete offers..

dmorris68

They can't check MAC address because they can't see your MAC with straight TCP/IP traffic -- MAC is carried at the layer 2 level and changes with every router hop.

IP address tracking by itself is linotli any reliable indicator of fraud, and Gratis has said they only consider it ALONG WITH other information that leads them to suspect fraud.

Not only is your dynamic IP reused by others as your ISP shuffles them around, folks who login/signup from many schools, businesses, internet cafe's, libraries, hotels, etc. will all appear to come from the same address. That's how internet gateways (routers) work -- they bridge a local network to the internet via a NAT router which works like a proxy and exposes a single IP address to the internet from the entire LAN. So many many people are going to appear to be coming from the same IP address -- it's perfectly normal.

People tend to get a bit paranoid about losing their freebies and make a lot of assumptions about why the get on hold, but it's virtually always due to other reasons (right or wrong) than IP alone.

I didn't SIGN UP on the same computer as any of my referrals, but I did check my account from multiple computers (my dads desktop and laptop at home, my computer at school, random computers in the labs at school, my bf's computer at school). My boyfriend completed an offer for me, but I'm pretty sure I logged in on his computer before placing my order -- and I definitely did after placing my order.

I still received my ipod.

I think that it only matters when signing up... and my guess is that if you did happen to be put on hold for it, you could explain yourself off

[quote80358b7ff1="CoMpFrEaK"]2. How to cheat thread[/quote80358b7ff1]
How so?

Signup/checking from the same IP is hardly cheating. You still have to have unique name/address, and lots of folks legitimately want to check on their status from multiple PC's, and even signup from the same PC. As I said, by itself it's no indication of fraud, so I'm not sure how discussing it constitutes "how to cheat." Assuming that was what you're referring to...
