I am sure all of us that got STVed last week will get the older one if they ship soon, anyone hear any inside info if the new ipods?? The Apple show is in San Francisco on January eleventh, they always announce updates and new products. No idea exactly what is coming out, but the mini and the regular (non-U2, non-photo) iPods haven't been updated in awhile, so it seems entirely likely. Anyone have any plans to try to swap the one we get from FIP.com for a new one from bestbuy or CC when and if they update the 20gig IPOD??

I think the photo is the update to the non-photo. Although it's true it's not the same price range.

There are serious rumours about a low-end flash card iPod.

There's a new 80gb Toshiba HD that could fit a video iPod too I guess... But I really don't think that's for january.

apple has no reason to make a "low end" ipod, even people who could never fill a 4 gig still buy the big ones and pay the big money

that might be, and some people think the same way as you

But there are also a lot of people who can't afford a mini and would buy an over priced flash player that bears the Apple logo and a vague resemblance with the iPod.

Rumors about this are more and more insistent

i think with that the brought the photo and U2ipod out just a little while ago i don't think they're going to be showing any new ipod type material. they already consider the photo ipods to be 5th generation.

What i would like to see is some crazy new software for the ipod itself. just more features to be able to use on the ipod when I'm not near itunes.

I looked at some of those pics on ipod lounge of people's ideas of a new ipod, some them were were really good and some were fricken hilarious. My fav funny one was the one where it's going to look just like the ipod mini, but only be like 5mm thick. And in that they want to put the sandisk reader behind the LCD screen, not taking into account what you need for an lcd screen and how much a sandisc drive actually takes up..... maybe it's just funny to me because I'm a technical person....
