Just curious about this. I've been a member of freeipods for five or six months and just lately in the past month or so i've noticed a small but steady trickle of spam (to a gmail address) ---wondering if anyone can confirm gratis selling addresses to spammers?

I didn't use my gmail address for the free offers sites, but I, too, have been receiving spam on my gmail account.

I'm willing to bet that it has nothing to do with Gratis.

Ahhh, you should see the amount of spam I get in my Gmail address, probably an average of 75-100 per day x

I've gotten a bit of spam but it's always the same email all the time.

read gratis' privacy policy, they say that they dont sell names, and i doubt a big company like that would take the chance of a lawsuit

I was thinking along those lines too stepin, mostly cause the spam im getting has the look of a dictionary type crusade.

Thanks for the replies all.

can you think of a good reason for gratis to ask you for your e-mail address?

guys I have a gmail account seprate for all my offers that I do and that email has not recieved ONE spam mail. not anything but messages from gratis asking me to verify my account.

I know i'm only one person but I have signed up for every offer they have and not one spam email.

I think it's safe to say they hold true to their T&C.

Well, i've noticed an incline in my REAL junk mail arriving to my address at home. However, I don't really mind it much because I can filter real mail much faster than spam in my email. Sure, I can read the topics for every one of the 100 or so emails i get each day but it gets old when I usually never find anything. Real mail only takes a second to sort, like the other day I got two change of service requests from capital one......I have no official credit cards. roll

I read somewhere that taking your mail server down for a few days will decrease your spam but i'm not sure. There is a feature in gmail to close your gmail service but i'm not sure how easily you can reopen it.
