I got mine for $40. Don't know if that was a good deal or not but I hate it. After playing like 10 minutes of music with it the batteries already get low enough for it to not send a good signal to the stereo. evil

i bought the Belkin FM Tuner. It does not say anything about specifically working with the iPod, but I KNOW that it does, because i'm using it.

it works great. it plugs into the cig lighter, so it [b1695a3d370]doesnt use any battery power from the ipod.[/b1695a3d370] I also get pretty good reception with it.

However, fm transmitter are not the best in terms of sound quality. But it's still a good replacement to changing the CDs everytime.

I use it on a 2 hour drive regularly and my battery is still 75% FULL.

I use 88.1FM and 106.1FM in Central Florida. I get great sound quality on 106.1FM, so it does not matter what frequency you use.

I hope this makes your decision easier. Stick with the transmitters that do not use the iPod battery as the power source and you will be good to go.

Thank goodness for the iRiver, it's built in FM tuner, and it's 16 hour battery life.

Zed, I also bought the Belkin fm tuner. Do you know if there is any way to tap it into the power source from the wall outlets? As if you use batteries it blows.

I got the "itrip" ... I read many reviews online saying that the itrip wasn't the best ... But i decided to try it because i love how it snapped onto the ipod and didn't require batteries.. I figured if it was "that bad" i would sell it on ebay..

I've had the itrip for about 2 weeks and I LOVE it.. the sound is great (not as bad as reported) although in some of my friends car I do get a bit of static.. I guess it depends on your ride

I don't think you can do it, without having to rip it apart. I also have not even tried using AA batteries in it. If you want to use with your stereo at home, consider buying a wire that plugs directly in.

[bd4d6ccb8a8]If anyone lives near BestBuy, the Belkin FM Transmitter was $20 after rebates this Sunday (12/19-12/25).[/bd4d6ccb8a8][/colord4d6ccb8a8]

I got mine and my boyfriend's from thinkgeek.com (the brand is Si-Link). It was around $25/each and it works great.

There is a trick to having decent sound coming through though, and that's to make sure you have the eqalizer settings turned off to lessen the amount of data that's being transmitted. Also, it takes two AAA batteries and they last a long time (multiple 2+ hour trips and the original batteries are still kickin).

I'm really happy with it!

i would say go with the iTrip... ive never used it but i've heard only good reports on it...

i've read reviews about the iTrip using up too much of the battery on the iPod. I would recommend something that comes with a charger or does not use the battery power from the iPod.

yea one that doesn't use battery of the iPod would probably be better... i didn't realize that.
