LCD base...

Hey everyone who GOT your Samsung 17" already...

I bought a second one from Buy.com, to complete my two-display setup (which kicks ass). Unfortunately, the second LCD (Exact same model) came with a different base. Instead of being the trapezoidal kind of shape, it's round. This isn't a HUGE issue, except that it's also slightly thicker than the base that came with my Gratis LCD.

Here's my question would anyone be interested in trading bases? Both fit on the FFS.com LCD, so if you only have one, it doesn't really make a difference. It would cost all of $3 to mail the base, and I just really need the same base so that my monitors line up (which is useful for editing of large images, photoshop, etc).

well..

turns out my second monitor has two bad pixels (!!), so I may be doing some wheelin' and dealin' with walmart to replace it (trying to send it back to buy.com would be an enormous hassle). I still need to decide..

If I get a replacement and it has the round base, I'll trade ya, and I'll let you know - it will more than likely be after the 3rd (I figure a return will be a lot easier after Christmas)...but I will let you know.

Goodluck in getting them to trade monitors ...most places wont do that if the amount of dead pixels is 6 or less.

My old lcd had a nice RED dead pixel in the center of the screen. Uber annoying.

if you know what you're doing, you can exchange it and get one free of dead pixels..

If walmart has it in the store, you could take a dump on the thing and they will still trade it out for a new one....a few friends did this with their x-box after they trashed 2 of them trying to add modchips and buring them up..

Yah, HAHAH, Wal-Mart will return anything. I once returned something from them(in perfect condition) and when I was in line I checked out what people were returning, I saw some lady returning snow pants and they had dirt on them and were still sort of wet / and they still let them return them O. And the lady at the counter, the employee, was like " Ahh these smell like crap!!! " Show's they'll take anything. I wonder what happens to some of the stuff that's returned ?

they ship it to their distribution center...who then throws it away (some items are restocked)

Walmart doesn't sell them in-store.

HOWEVER you can return online items to Walmart in-store with a valid receipt. We'll see what happens..

I meant the whole thing, not just the base. What if I were to move it to $6? That sounds reasonable to me.
