Taking Back the ipod

I think I might want to take mine back once I get it and get some phat cash. Then use that to buy one on-line with a student discount and possibly get it personalized for free.... but where could I take it back and get cash cash cash without a receipt?

apple store

Apple store is your best bet, CompUSA during the holidays is good for a store credit but no cash. Apple store will generally take them back if they are unopened and still factory wrapped. Good Luck.

i highly doubt you are going to get cash anywhere without a receipt. I used to work in retail and it's a big no no. If you're trying to get cash, to buy again online with the student discount, why wouldn't you just goto the apple store and return it for store credit then like come back a little later and rebuy with the student discount. I called the apple store near me (12 oaks mall in Novi Michigan) last night and asked them. They were like yeah we'll exchange it for store credit no problem, no receipt, we don't care, student discount, yeah you can use it... You wouldn't be getting it engraved...but still i doubt you're going to get cash unless you sell it

yeah...I think i'll be too lazy to drive to the nearest apple store - its in plano, tx about 45 minutes away ( I've beat the system enough already ) haha

actually i still don't see how you're explanation explains anything. yes 300 is retail. if you sell it for 250 you're not profiting 50, how does that even work... profit is what you make after you subtract your costs, did the ipod really cost you anything? no. so either all, or close to it(if you did a trial offer that required shipping) would be profit. so the other guys were technically right.

the only way i can think of your explanation is if you're saying [ud1b2ce1861]you[/ud1b2ce1861] as in yourself sells it for 250 and someone else buys it, the buyer would be profiting by not paying retail. that's the only way i can figure out your logic, but you used the word "you" all the way through it which makes it kind of hard.

I've got to admit, I kind of did miss the PROFIT part of the sentence... but still, you made no sense. Why would you only make $30-$70 profit? If you got the iPod for free and sold it for like $200 on eBay, then you made somewhere around $199.50 profit.... I don't know how much it is to list it on eBay.

But my logic is why sell it under retail on ebay when you can sell it for 30 - 70 dollars over retail value and make CASH of course ull get the actual retail as profit 2 but i was meaning profit over retail since he was saying like 200$ when basically ur losing money

the nursing home won't let folks out long enough to buy stuff for their grandkids, plus they dont know how much stuff costs, ebay will always get you something

Jesus, to see even the words "14-Day DOA Warranty" would be enough for me to never look at that auction. And, the thing is, a lot of iPods aren't guaranteed to be shipped by Christmas. Shipping is offered for $20 with USPS(!!). I shipped today for 10 bucks via UPS Ground, and it'll arrive before Christmas.

those auctions are insane. if i wanted to get an ipod for someone for x-mas and that was the only way to get one they'd get a friggin picture inside a box with an I O U an iPod attached. Right after Christmas they're going to have a ton of them...
