This sucks. I moved to Washington a while back but my address is still in Colorado for PS3's. I wanted to get my address changed so I asked CS to do so -

[quote2af1e4bb30]I need my address changed because I started processing on 3/1/2006 and I have moved since then. Please change my address to - - Street = - City = - State = Washington - Zip Code = - New Phone Number = Thanks Freepay. I'll still be processing on this right?[/quote2af1e4bb30]

[quote2af1e4bb30]We have received your inquiry and will respond via a reply post in your account as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. Sincerely, The FreePay Automated Response Team[/quote2af1e4bb30]

6 days later, they sent me this -

[quote2af1e4bb30]Thank you for contacting Freepay Customer Service. In order to change the shipping address, you need to cancel the order lililililili and place a new order with the new address. We can not change the address for you after you placed the order. We are sorry for this inconvenience. Sincerely, The Freepay Customer Service Team[/quote2af1e4bb30]

They want me to cancel my order so I can get screwed with the 4 extra refs I'm assuming.

Looks like I'll have to deal with this the complicated way. They'll have to ship it to my old house and I'll have the people there forward it to me. That's the only possible solution I see.

I had Jake change my flatscreens address when I was processing so I don't see why they changed the rules up here. I wish Jake could just change this one too. It's rediculous how they're doing this. cry

It's not too hard. Go to your local post office and they have stacks of address change forms that you can fill out. Just enter in your current address and your new address and they'll forward your mail to you for about 6 to 8 months.

Change of address at the post office does not apply to DHL, UPS or Fed Ex.

I would simply send in a support ticket talking of your situation and they'll probably make exception.

That's what I did. I don't think Freepay is known as being conciliatory.

hmm, i would fight them on this. ask them what would happen if u did cancel and reorder, would u have to get an extra 4 refs?
if so, i would fight them tooth and nail - there is nothing in their TOS that states they cannot change your address after your order is pending and sent out...
tell them u can prove your ID by sending a fax of your passport/license etc if they say this is to protect u

I'd rather just get it forwarded somehow. I definately don't want to risk it and get in a sticky situation, especially when they aren't bound by law to give me anything.

well, technically they are. it is wishy washy but like i have said a hundred times the things freepay does would never hold up in court.
i agree though, arrange it thru the PO - they are always helpful

Yeah... These companies always loose in court because the judges don't believe in them and feel like they're making these scammers pay...

Again fellas, there is nothing you can setup at the PO to forward a shipment from UPS, FedEx, DHL, or other common carrier.

Yup, the USPS is a separate entity and business -- they only care about what's being delivered by them, not what other couriers are bringing.

Your best bet is to contact UPS and DHL to see what can be done. I've been successful with changing my address while a package was en route, if I had the tracking #. However, it would have to arrive at the destination city first, then the address would be changed, and I would get it later.

Well my 360 broke and when they fixed it and sent it back they used UPS to ship it to my old house and I was worried. It said that it was the wrong address and they are searching for the right one on tracking and I just told them and they delivered it here to me in Washington.
