It died earlier today.

Won't start, won't reboot, won't respond to any keypresses. Looks like I get to test out apple support x

Check to make sure the hold button isnt on.

That was the first thing I checked.

And even if the hold button is on, the ipod will show when you connect it to a Windows XP machine.

my friend told me that when i get mine i should up it with some applecare. he's on his third ipod. he's just having bad luck with them, something about how when he connects it, something happens and just continually spins the disc and burns itself out.

man, i got scared on my way home yesterday. i was listening to this ben folds song and the bastard kept skipping. i thought that maybe just the file was uploaded funny so i tried skipping to the next track, but it wasn't letting me skip for adjust the volume. I was able to pause it though, so i paused, went back to the menu and reshuffled the songs to get it off of that track. ugh. I hope it doesnt mess up again

plug it the ipod up to the wall charger move the hold switch on and off 3x's then hold down the menu+white select button
