Exchanging 20gb iPod + hp for 40gb Apple iPod?
I got my free iPod + hp today, and I want to exchange it for the 40GB.
I read one thread about someone exchaning a 20GB hp iPod for a 40GB hp iPod at Best Buy. The nearest Best Buys and Circuit Cities do not have the hp iPods (I don't know if they're sold out or haven't started selling them yet.) Do you think either store would let me exchange this?
Also, I know a lot of people have suggested exchanging a 20GB for a 40GB at CompUSA; has anyone sucessfully tried this?

i don't think anyone has successfully returned the hpod yet, but you could always be the first and let the rest know D

I kinda don't think they would exchange any 20gb for a 40 though. Not to say you can't try....;)

the compusa and best buy stores here in Albany, NY have the hp's now. im sure your local stores will prob be recieving them soon.

you exchange you 20GB and pay $100 and get a 40GB. some people have done it, maybe not with HPs though.

no, he's trying to return it and get store credit towards a 40gb .. obviously they wouldn't exchange, since they are priced differently P
CompUSA's site says they have them in stock; Best Buy and Circuit City's say's their unavailable (although they both have the regular 40GB Apple iPod available.) Staples doesn't have the 40GB hp iPod either, although their website has it for sale. CompUSA is much farther away than Best Buy and Circuit City, so I'd prefer to exchange them there if possible.
I guess I'll try Best Buy and CompUSA later...
(yes, I meant to say that I wanted to return the 20GB and buy the 40GB and pay the difference.)

I went to SUNY Albany for 4 years, I graduated in '03.
I'm going to Best Buy soon to try to exchange, wish me luck.

The first Best Buy I went to tried to do the return, but since they didn't have the iPod+hp yet they couldn't.
The second Best Buy refused to let me exchange it at all.
I just did it at CompUSA...20GB iPod+hp for a 40GB Apple iPod (NOT hp). They even gave me the $21 worth of tax on the 20GB iPod. I just asked for store credit. It was still shrinkwrapped or they would not have done it.

hah you should have exchanged it for a 20GB HP and taken it to the apple store to upgrade with the Apple student discount.
LOL...that would have been a good idea...but it's ok. Instant gratification is worth a few bucks. ;-)

Thanks, Blue) I went to CompUSA yesterday and they told me that it might be possible to do the same thing --> they would give me in-store credit for it) BestBuy couldn`t tell me anything, because they didn`t have it in stock.. so I guess CompUSA is our only chance) I want that 40GB Ipod )
